Looks like a scene from some fantastic science fiction movie!
Impressive but watch this one!!! At the 1987 Talladega 500 Bobby Allison's car blows a right rear tire while driving over 210 MPH. He climbs out of the car uninjured mere moments later. At about 1:30 into this clip they replay the wreck in slow motion. If you watch when his car begins to fall from the catch fence it goes under the flag stand and the official is already waving the caution flag!!!

An interesting side note... Bobby's son Davie won the race this crash occurred in. Davie would later die at the same track attempting to land a small helicopter there

Talladega is built on the site of a WWII Army Air Force field (some of the runways remain and are visible in areal shots both in the infield and outside the track). The airfield was built on an ancient Indian burial grounds, as is now the track...Another victim of "The Curse of Talladega".
