The boat rocked gently with the rhythm of the ocean, sunlight shimmering on the endless blue expanse. The chains wrapped around her torso clinked softly with every movement, their cold touchbiting into her skin. Her breaths were quick, shallow, a mixture of fear and defiance as the man loomed over her.

The sea closed over her head, the weight of the chains pulling her downward. Bubbles erupted around her, shimmering silver against the darkening blue. Her lungs burned as she fought againstthe inevitability of her descent. Above her, the surface grew farther away, sunlight shimmering faintly like a memory she could no longer reach.
