I'm debating sharing the first half that is complete with select individual(s) who would help me proofread it. Even after many revisions, there are bound to be typos and sentences that aren't quite right given the length (127,818 words with no end in sight). Another quarter is only missing some key scenes for character development and logical jumps, and the end is mostly written out for all the main characters.Hope you will post it. Sounds like a good story.
I would send at least the first half to anyone who could convince me that they are reliable and a good editor. But I know those are two traits that are hard to find amongst volunteers. My immediate goal would be for them to at least get started and help me polish that half or more to a respectable quality I would consider publishable. I don't need feedback on story ideas or characters, but I do have some pride associated—even anonymously—with writing at a decent education level. That said, I admit I am not a professional writer and generally assume that my first draft of every email has at least one error. For the first time, I'm open to PMs or replies here or suggestions about where to look for thorough editors of the English language who could simply highlight incorrect words or confusing phrases.
I'm ok with releasing a story and adding chapters later. For example, I have notes for about 35+ ideas for future scenes and sexual torture predicaments. Thus, in the interest of ever getting to the first public release, I not include them all. I'm not sure I ever intend for the story to be "complete," in that I will be my outlet for years for fantasies that can be slotted into various stages with characters that I love. Many of my favorite authors on the internet (Semiater, Darinost, Erenisch, Ted Owen, our own Zerns) add new chapters to their universes from time to time. Eventually, I would like to publish the story including the ending on The Fet Library and link it here, once the gaps in logical progression have been filled in and all the character arcs have been written.
For those interested in knowing more about my writing before they volunteer to help edit: personally I dislike stories where the victims are merely interchangeable vessels of screams, featureless besides hair color and large vs larger bust size. One of my favorite genres of stories is where pretty girls are forced into sexual slavery and trained to act like eager sluts for rape and pain. But my other guiding principle is at least an attempt at keeping things realistic. A few whippings don't turn anyone into a masochist. Therefore, I plan out progressions of scenes to illustrate how slave adapt to their captivity, in a way that is hopefully believable for the psychology of each one. Similarly, I'm most titillated by creative punishments that are grounded in research on what works. Just my own tastes, but I am turned off by science fiction or fantasy erotica where the object of torture is magically healed or crude contemporary scenes where they somehow survive. I'm vacillating on sending a sample of the first half to those who persuade me they would be helpful, to see if it's their cup of tea and worth their time.
