LIBERATA OF SIGUENZA CRUCIFIED AND TORTURED

Gabriel Roman arena 443-1-.jpg

The martyr Liberata was born in the Roman era to a pagan king in Galicia or Lusitania (Portugal). She became a Christian and withdrew with her sisters from the court to the wilderness, where they led a simple and pious life, preached the gospel, and converted many people.
During one of the great persecutions, Liberata was arrested and executed for her faith in or near Sigüenza (Spain). According to one version of her hagiography she was crucified and tortured with iron hooks.

MAURA CRUCIFIED AS A CHRISTIAN REBEL

Gabriel Roman arena 444-1-.jpg

Maura is a Christian martyr of the third century and is honored in Egypt and the Middle East. She was a Christian from Upper Egypt married to a deacon called Timothy. When Diocletianus came to power and wanted to erase any trace of Christianity, the governor Urban invited Timothy and his wife to embrace paganism. They refused with courage, were crucified and died from slow death around 283. It is also supposed that this martyrdom took place under Decius.

This 13th century Italian fresco of the holy martyrs Timothy and Maura is the only known depiction of a male erection in medieval art, he lied.

By which I mean does anybody know who's responsible for this thing?

Can't track it down, but Googling led me to this interesting blog

especially cruel way of burning to death - not all at once, but bit by bit,
applying the hot iron to sensitive parts - it could take hours,
when each of her most vulnerable parts has been branded,
she'll stay there on the scaffold, dying slowly in agony through the night ...
Sure. Much slower agonizing death than stake. Not just vulnerable parts, all parts too, easy with the spead position...

PETRA CRUCIFIED UPSIDE DOWN

Gabriel Roman arena 446-1-.jpg

According to tradition, Petra was the spiritual daughter of Saint Peter. After the death of her father, the woman continued to be part of the Christian community in the city of Rome. After her capture, she refused to recant and was therefore sentenced to death by public crucifixion.
