I did a little research on Google. Julie Adams wasn't naked in the movie, but I found several retouched photos. I never saw the movie, but I assume the creature was a carnivore.

I was thinking the same! I doubt whether such nudity would have passed the Hays Code in a 1950's movie.
This is the more decent and chaste attire, Julie Adams wears in the movie.
