Those who claim that from the point of view of the Jewish religion there cannot be enjoyment of a good crucifixion are not to be believed.
The subscript of this artist impression by Dutch painter Willem Swidde says:

Did Jannaeus seek the honor of the greatest mass crucifixion in history till then? The mass crucifixion of about 6,000 slaves who had joined the Spartacus Revolt along the Via Appia took place only in 71 BC.
