In its quest for property and power, the Church had recently sent quite a number of noblewomen to the Inquisition. That was the case with poor Lady Isae whose portrait you see below. Unfortunately, an acute shortage of personnel had created a backlog, which meant that Isae had to wait a few days before being interrogated. A lucky break? Hmm, maybe not... Be patient, m'lady!

Matters not... to me, anyway. She's in the dungeon where she belongs, well whipped and hanging in a nice strappado.
