Safe Crux!

Ever heard of the porn star Rain DeGrey? She once stated in an interview that she suffered permanent nerve damage from an improperly done wrist suspension with metal handcuffs. Things like that may work in fantasy, but not in real life.

My tip is: Do some research online. There are rope bondage techniques especially developed for suspensions. It is pretty much only about applying the strain in the right angle. You want the rope to be something like your extended arm and not pull on it in a weird sideways angle or cut the circulation of your blood.

Or you spend some more money and buy special suspension cuffs (again, the angle is important).

I'm no specialist, but I think severe, localised, pain (or the opposite, numbness) suggests a nerve's being pinched, and that could lead to serious damage. More general pain in the whole wrist would be more likely muscle strain, and that would mean you need to practise carefully, in gradual stages, till you've built up more strength in your arms.

And practice with them low enough to be on your knees so you can stand quickly to relieve the pressure! Suspension- even by the wrists- is fraught with danger, so always think safety first. Once you and your play partner work out how (using the good suggestions above as a guide) then go for it.

I thoroughly recommend investing in proper equipment, even if it causes a delay while saving for them, don’t be in a hurry, and always play safe!

Out of curiosity ( assuming you've built the cross correctly and safely and all that) what is the maximum amount of time you could spend on a cross before it becomes unsafe?
Having built myself both the 'X' and a 'T'- Cross...and ridden them... speaking from experience, I managed to bear my self-crucifixion for at least an hour, upon the "Tau"- Cross.bound with ropes by the wrists and ankles, ergo supported upon a (raised) footrest and seated upon a form of Sedile. I found it quite a mixture of sensations.
Some erotic, some determination then ultimately boredom....it certainly concentrates the mind !!
I made sure I practiced safe crux throughout...
IF,another person was present then the ordeal would be carried out for longer...
hope this helps ??
Remember....SAFE CRUX...ALWAYS !!

I had a chance to try out my ideas for a crux simulation. All-in-all, it actually worked. First, my clumsy knots around my wrists, allowing the passage of the wooden pole simulating the patibulum actually worked well. I was able to slip the pole through both knots, then stretch out my arms and more-or-less center myself, then raise the "patibulum" above my head to hook onto the apex hinge of the positionable stepladder.

I was happy to discover that there was sufficient friction to let me put my weight onto the knots, without them slipping towards the center of the horizontal pole. I was less happy to realize how tippy the ladder could be. I needed to be mindful of letting my weight pull forward, which easily let the ladder tip forward. I will need to think of a way to prevent this, as my plan is to stand half-hanging and half-standing, while I watch my avatar hang crucified in Second Life.

One thing I realized right away... Actually hanging with one's full weight and restrained wrists would be hideously painful!!! OMG! When I see real-life pics, of you guys in here, and that Krista Klass doing it outdoors, I am goggle-eyed at the ordeal you all must be going through! I know I am a terrible wimp, weak and overweight, but even if I was a svelte 100 pounds or so, I would still be bawling bloody murder if I was tied up and hanging for real (let alone nailed to a cross). What I am doing, then, is certainly right for me. Frankly, if I can last three hours or so, it will be a miracle!

Alas, I can't say when I can safely set this up, yet. Given the trouble I have to go through to lug that heavy, heavy stepladder up and down the stairs, and giving my pasty skin enough time to lose any obvious marks, I probably need a day and a half with the house to myself, probably involving an overnight absence by my sister and her family. Sigh. It might be a number of weeks before that happens. At least that should get me time to think on the tipping-forward problem...

Just be careful. A tipping cross or ladder is the nightmare of any cruxplay. Be aware that your hands and arms are tied and fixed so that you cannot use them to keep your balance or to catch yourself.

Relativly secure plan to perform a self crucifixion with an ice timer

Hey their,
This is my first thread, so let me get away with this.
I had the idea of a good plane for a self crucifixion with self made ice time and I want you opinion.
All what it needs are something to tie your hands above, which you can loose, if you stand on a higher position with your feets, so you can reach a scissor or loose a running knote. The hint now is, that you cannot reach the higher position, before the ice is melted. So you need three position: one for the hands, one secure, which you can reach, if you feet are unrestrained and one for your feets deep enough to prevent you hands from escaping. Or you take a parallel timer for you hands. But it is about your feets. You take a bottle filled with 95% water, put the middle part of a rope into it, so that both ends hang out and frize it. The bottle can have a neck to attach a second rope or you can take the too ends which hang out of the bottle. This is maybe better because gravity then helps the mechanism. With the second rope you tie the frozen bottle to the third position, deep enough, you cannot free your hands, if your feets are tied to the rope ends hanging out of the bottle. You then just need to stand on a chair, tie your feets to the bottle ropes, tie your hands and kick the chair, like if you would hang yourself. If the ice is melted, you can stand with your feet on the upper position and free your hands for escape. Do you think, that would work? Of course you must, prevent your hands from becoming throttled, that you can not feel them anymore, assure you have enough strengh left to lift up at the end. It must be everything secure from snapping and loosening and so on. Of course it will always ne daring. Another problem is that the ice can need five hours to melt and if you hang too long your arms could disjoint.
