LA CROCIFISSIONE DI CLAUDIA (interpretata dalla ragazza in foto). (Italian/English)
Claudia, 24 anni, è una schiava e ancella di una ricca e potente Signora al tempo dell'imperatore Caligola, uno dei più scellerati e crudeli imperatori che la storia di Roma ricordi. Vale a dire che bastava solo un semplice schiocco di dita e per poca cosa per venir essere frustati/flagellati e crocifissi, specialmente per gli schiavi o comunque persone non nobili. Claudia è stata frustata e condannata a morte tramite crocifissione per aver rubato e tentato di uccidere un nobile.
Ha ricevuto in totale 26 frustate con il flagrum (o flagello).
Claudia legata all'alta colonna di fustigazione con le braccia alzate e legate per i polsi con le manette delle catene di ferro. Le sue braccia erano rispettivamente posizionate uno sul lato sinistro della colonna e l'altro quindi sul lato destro. E quindi con il volto e la parte frontale del corpo rivolta verso la colonna fustigativa. Fu frustata da due littori posizionati rispettivamente uno sul suo lato destro e l'altro sul suo lato sinistro, alternandole i colpi di frusta. Dopo appena 5/6 colpi di flagrum Claudia disse di sentirsi molto male e quindi di non farcela più a sopportare, ma i littori continuarono a frustarla, facendola svenire due volte quasi consecutivamente, precisamente al colpo 17 e al colpo 23. Le ultime tre frustate le sono state inflitte mentre Claudia era priva di conoscenza.
Dopo due ora Claudia è stata crocifissa. Trasportando il patibulum (la trave di legno usata per inchiodare le mani/polsi e sostenere le braccia) sulle spalle e riuscendo a malapena a camminare per l'indebolimento delle brutte ferite sulla schiena, completamente scorticata dalle tremende frustate, è stata scortata dai soldati. Inoltre, per sfregiarle parzialmente il volto, gli stessi soldati, inebriati dalla bellezza di Claudia, le conficcarono una corona di spine spingendola nella pelle della fronte.
Claudia non disse una parola, completamente inerme, indebolita e massacrata dal dolore delle frustate. Soltanto, sentendo diverse spine penetrargli dentro la pelle fino a raggiungere l'osso cranico, spalanca la bocca ma senza emettere un grido, il suo urlo rimane soffocato.
Arrivata sul posto di crocifissione viene fatta adagiare a terra, lanciando un forte urlo sentendo la polvere della terra entrarle nelle ferite della schiena.
Le sono state legate delle corde, aggiunte tra i gomiti e gli avambracci per sostenerla di più al patibulum. I chiodi le sono stati conficcati nei palmi delle mani e non nei polsi. Ciò significa che senza corde di supporto, i soli palmi inchiodati non avrebbero sostenuto completamente il peso del suo corpo, oltre al fatto che servono anche a prolungarle l'intera agonia.
I chiodi le sono stati piantati contemporaneamente dai due esecutori ai suoi due lati, destro e sinistro delle sue mani. Appena Claudia ha sentito il chiodo perforarle i palmi, carne, tendini e ossa delle mani, ha inarcato di colpo la schiena con uno scatto brutale lanciando un urlo di dolore disumano. Il sanguinamento è inevitabile a causa di qualche rottura di vene.
Dietro alla trave di legno (patibulum) ci sono dei ganci per far passare le corde per sollevare in alto Claudia e quindi fissare il patibulum all'altra alta trave di legno verticale. Altre altissime urla atroci lancia a causa del dolore squarciante che le provocano i chiodi con la pressione del suo peso nel momento di innalzarla.
Una volta fissato il patibulum ai ganci di ferro, i due esecutori le prendono i piedi nudi appoggiandoli alla rispettiva piattaforma di supporto in legno e quindi le sono stati sovrapposti l'uno sull'altro,rispettivamente, quello destro sopra al sinistro. E'stato usato un singolo chiodo particolarmente lungo per coprire uno spessore maggiore, poiché i piedi hanno più ossa, muscoli e tendini, quindi il chiodo utilizzato deve essere inchiodato più in profondità. Il chiodo è stato quindi scelto dagli esecutori per essere conficcato vicino alle dita dei piedi di Claudia. Uno dei due carnefici le teneva saldamente i piedi fermi con il massimo della forza per impedirle di dimenersi. Claudia sentendo il chiodo trafiggerle i piedi trattiene un urlo soffocato e allo stesso tempo spalanca al massimo la bocca, chiude gli occhi strizzandoli, inarca di nuovo la schiena con uno strattone e come riflesso nervoso del tutto involontario inarca anche lo stomaco nelle costole.
C'è un forte zampillo di sangue mentre il chiodo penetra, causato da una rottura di una grossa vena sotto pelle o più vene, e quindi più sanguinamento. Una volta terminata l'inchiodatura dei piedi, di colpo Claudia rilassa la muscolatura, chiude la bocca e smette di tremare. Rilassa le palpebre tenendo gli occhi chiusi. Le sue braccia irrigidite ora cedono rilassandosi. Claudia apre per un brevissimo tempo gli occhi, ma li rotea all'indietro mostrando solo il bianco delle pupille dando solo nello stesso istante un sussulto soffocato con il diaframma e la sua testa crolla all'ingiù.
E' svenuta. Ha perso conoscenza a causa del dolore, dello stress psicofisico e dallo shock ipovolemico provocato dalla perdita di sangue.
Claudia rimase priva di sensi per quasi un paio d'ore prima di risvegliarsi in preda a dolori e crampi atroci.
L'agonia di Claudia si spense dopo quattordici ore di crocifissione, pur essendo molto giovane, il suo cuore smise di battere andando in arresto cardiaco, causato dalla diminuzione costante di ossigeno, compromettendole la respirazione, con il conseguente asfissiamento e il collasso a catena di tutti gli altri organi. Le terribili ferite dei chiodi e delle frustate nonchè la perdita consistente di sangue.

Claudia, 24 years old, is a slave and maidservant of a rich and powerful Domina at the time of Emperor Caligula, one of the most wicked and cruel emperors that the history of Rome remembers. Carrying the patibulum (the wooden beam used to nail the hands/wrists and support the arms) on her shoulders and barely able to walk due to the weakening of the ugly wounds on her back, completely flayed by the terrible flogging, she was escorted by the soldiers. Furthermore, to partially disfigure her face, the same soldiers, intoxicated by Claudia's beauty, stuck a crown of thorns into her forehead.
Claudia did not say a word, completely helpless, weakened and massacred by the pain of the lashes. Only, feeling several thorns penetrating her skin until they reached the skull bone, she opens her mouth wide but without letting out a scream, her scream remains suffocated.

Gaia Plautilla, di stato libero, aveva 29 anni. Era una ribelle e un'anarchica. Fu crocifissa per aver quasi mortalmente trafitto con un pugnale un centurione.
La sua esecuzione è stata eseguita soltanto appena tre ore prima di Claudia, infatti Gaia era già inchiodata alla croce, mentre giungeva sul posto anche Claudia.
Prima della crocifissione anche lei, come da regolamento Romano, fu duramente frustata con il flagrum da due littori! Ricevette 21 frustate in totale.
Svenne alla frustata numero 18. Dopo tre frustate perse di nuovo i sensi, e quindi la slegarono per evitare il rischio di ucciderla.
Non era per nulla inusuale perdere conoscenza e quindi svenire sotto i colpi di frusta dei littori. Stessa cosa è capitata proprio anche a Claudia.
Invece dei palmi delle mani, come con Claudia, i chiodi le furono conficcati nei polsi, precisamente, tra i polsi e l'inizio degli avambracci, perforando e comprimendo tendini e nervi, facendole torcere le dita in spasmi nervosi/muscolari.
Per quanto riguarda l'inchiodatura dei piedi, anche lei aveva una pedana di legno come supporto, i piedi sovrapposti uno sopra l'altro (destro sopra sinistro).
Il chiodo è stato conficcato ancora più vicino alle dita dei piedi di Gaia, trafiggendole e comprimendole nervi, tendini e ossa delle dita che le collegano al metatarso.
Le sue dita dei piedi sono leggermente arricciate all'ingiù dall'impulso nervoso a causa del danno ai tessuti interni del piede stesso. Anche qui, c'è sanguinamento dovuto ad alcune vene recise sotto la pelle. In questo caso, tuttavia, la vena/e è più piccola perché il sanguinamento è leggermente inferiore rispetto a Claudia.
Gaia muore dopo una decina di ore di crocifissione, per le stesse identiche cause di Claudia, un peggioramento repentino delle condizioni di salute dovuto a tutta questa orrenda interminabile tortura.

GAIA PLAUTILLA'S CRUCIFIXION (played by the girl in the picture).
Gaia Plautilla, a free woman not a slave, was 29 years old. She was a rebel and an anarchist. She was crucified for having almost fatally stabbed a centurion with a dagger.
Her execution was carried out only three hours before Claudia, in fact Gaia was already nailed to the cross, while Claudia also arrived on the post.
Before the crucifixion, she too, as per Roman regulation, was severely flogged with the flagrum by two lictors! She received 21 lashes in total.
She fainted at the 18th lash. After three lashes she lost consciousness again, and so they untied her to avoid the risk of killing her.
It was not at all unusual to lose consciousness and then faint under the lashes of the lictors. The same thing happened to Claudia.
Instead of the palms of her hands, as with Claudia, the nails were driven into her wrists, specifically, between her wrists and the top of her forearms, piercing and compressing tendons and nerves, causing her fingers to twist in nervous/muscular spasms.
As for the nailing of her feet, she also had a wooden platform as a support, her feet overlapped on top of each other (right over left).
The nail was driven even closer to Gaia's toes, piercing and compressing nerves, tendons, and toe bones that connect them to the metatarsal.
Her toes are slightly curled downwards from the nerve impulse due to the damage to the internal tissues of the foot itself. Here too, there is bleeding due to some severed veins under the skin. In this case, however, the vein(s) are smaller because the bleeding is slightly less than with Claudia.
Gaia died after about ten hours of crucifixion, for the exact same reasons as Claudia, a sudden worsening of her health conditions due to all this horrendous, interminable torture.

Per quanto riguarda l'inchiodatura dei piedi, anche lei aveva una pedana di legno come supporto, i piedi sovrapposti uno sopra l'altro (destro sopra sinistro).
Il chiodo è stato conficcato ancora più vicino alle dita dei piedi di Gaia, trafiggendole e comprimendole nervi, tendini e ossa delle dita che le collegano al metatarso.
Le sue dita dei piedi sono leggermente arricciate all'ingiù dall'impulso nervoso a causa del danno ai tessuti interni del piede stesso. Anche qui, c'è sanguinamento dovuto ad alcune vene recise sotto la pelle. In questo caso, tuttavia, la vena/e è più piccola perché il sanguinamento è leggermente inferiore rispetto a Claudia.
Gaia muore dopo una decina di ore di crocifissione, per le stesse identiche cause di Claudia, un peggioramento repentino delle condizioni di salute dovuto a tutta questa orrenda interminabile tortura.

GAIA PLAUTILLA'S CRUCIFIXION (played by the girl in the picture).
Gaia Plautilla, a free woman not a slave, was 29 years old. She was a rebel and an anarchist. She was crucified for having almost fatally stabbed a centurion with a dagger.
Her execution was carried out only three hours before Claudia, in fact Gaia was already nailed to the cross, while Claudia also arrived on the post.
Before the crucifixion, she too, as per Roman regulation, was severely flogged with the flagrum by two lictors! She received 21 lashes in total.
She fainted at the 18th lash. After three lashes she lost consciousness again, and so they untied her to avoid the risk of killing her.
It was not at all unusual to lose consciousness and then faint under the lashes of the lictors. The same thing happened to Claudia.
Instead of the palms of her hands, as with Claudia, the nails were driven into her wrists, specifically, between her wrists and the top of her forearms, piercing and compressing tendons and nerves, causing her fingers to twist in nervous/muscular spasms.
As for the nailing of her feet, she also had a wooden platform as a support, her feet overlapped on top of each other (right over left).
The nail was driven even closer to Gaia's toes, piercing and compressing nerves, tendons, and toe bones that connect them to the metatarsal.
Her toes are slightly curled downwards from the nerve impulse due to the damage to the internal tissues of the foot itself. Here too, there is bleeding due to some severed veins under the skin. In this case, however, the vein(s) are smaller because the bleeding is slightly less than with Claudia.
Gaia died after about ten hours of crucifixion, for the exact same reasons as Claudia, a sudden worsening of her health conditions due to all this horrendous, interminable torture.

Rebecca already has several wounds on her back although she seems to be holding up for now, but that won't last much longer.
She is starting to feel exhausted and worn out, she is sweating profusely and her lean muscles are tensing from the effort and painful shock of resisting the lashes.
Rebecca will surely pass out, no matter how young, strong and healthy she may be.
(Rebecca's strong physique is mainly due to the fact that from when she was a child until she reached adulthood she was a peasant in a state of slavery, accustomed to very heavy work on the farm of a rich shepherd, before earning her freedom.)

She begins to give in, and it shows. The Lictors, seeing that Rebecca is literally exhausted in shock from the pain, don't stop hitting her. She is losing blood, although not yet in a worrying way, nevertheless even this not excessive loss of blood is making her weak, without forgetting that Rebecca is in shock from the pain.
Even though she is exhausted, she is holding on! Even though her arms hurt from the effort and are shaking.
The thirteenth lash from the right Lictor arrives. Trying to stay focused with the little lucidity she has left, Rebecca holds on again with her hands to the rings of the column, arches her back with a tremendous leap, this time she does not hold back and lets out a terrible scream to try to flow the pain as best she can.
The Lictor has delivered the whiplash lower down her back, closer to her buttocks where the skin is still healthy, and now other strips of abraded skin are forming from which droplets of blood are coming out.
Rebecca would like to say that she has reached the end of the line, she can't take it anymore. But she doesn't say anything, preferring not to give in to begging and with incredible brave she gets back into position herself trying to rest her head with her forehead against the column to try to find relief and rest.
She closes her eyes and collapses against the column completely exhausted. It is an incredible relief, even if it might seem trivial at first glance, because it also allows her to oxygenate her brain more and even the strong dizziness that she felt is going away. Now she opens her eyes a little more, keeping them half open.
Her breathing is becoming regular, which until a few seconds before was struggling. Still holding on tightly to the rings with her sweaty arms with her lean muscles always tense, but now also stopping shaking.
Rebecca also feels the hot blood dripping from her wounds and an inexplicable pain/burning, but it seems that the blood is stopping enough...for now.
What's going on? Is her flogging over?...No.
Only, the Centurion, impressed by Rebecca's strength to bear the lashes and her brave, despite her being a criminal, decides to give her just a little bit of recovery time to regain herself, thus stopping the two Lictors from keep flogging her, just for a few minutes.

But... the Lictors are quite frustrated by the fact that she is so resilient, they are determined at all costs to completely break her spirit and her brave, deciding to hurt her more and give her more pain. They want Rebecca to lose consciousness at all costs.
The Lictor on her left launches the 14th lash very hard, hitting the lower part of her back again near her buttocks, forming other abrasions on the skin, and even before Rebecca lets out her cry of pain, the Lictor on her right, lashes the 15th inside a wound, going to remove some of the blood that has already coagulated inside.
Rebecca, with an involuntary nervous reaction turns her head to her right side with a grimace of excruciating pain that almost disfigures her face from how much she has felt.
Her scream is strangled and she can only gasp. She can only hold on to the two rings of the column so tightly that her hands turn white.
Now she is bleeding more, the wound that had already formed with the previous lashes, emits more blood because the thickened blood that covered it has also been removed and now the wound is even deeper.

The 20th and 21st lashes were the ones that finally broke Rebecca.
The Lictor on the left who delivers the 20th lash hits her shoulder again, tearing the skin from her right shoulder scapula.
Rebecca feels very little now almost unconscious, her reaction is purely nervous, as she still keeps her eyes closed, tilts her head back slightly, opens her mouth slightly, no longer arches her back due to lack of strength, opens the palms of both hands slightly, with her right foot she curls her toes slightly while with her left foot she spreads them.
The right Lictor delivers Rebecca the 21st lash hitting her again in a wound, the decisive and final "coup de grace" sending her definitively to knock her out.
She immediately loses consciousness at the same time as the whip hits her.
She also collapses with her knees because obviously her legs give way too, only the ropes in the iron rings of the column that tie her wrists support her.
Her head tilts back involuntarily. Rebecca has completely fainted, too many wounds, too much stress, too much excruciating pain to bear.
The Centurion, momentarily stops the Lictors from hitting Rebecca.
But to be sure that she has truly fainted he has the two Lictors launch the last two lashes, first the left and then the right, shooting away many drops of blood from her back. Nothing to be done, she remains completely unconscious.
The bloody flesh in some places bleeds a lot, if Rebecca had only been condemned to be flogged, probably many infusions and compresses of medicinal herbs would have needed to heal the wounds as much as possible, but since she is condemned to crucifixion, this will not happen.
The two Lictors completely satisfied for having knocked down Rebecca. Nevertheless she was very tenacious in enduring and resisting.
A very strong physique indeed, even for a young woman.
The Centurion considers the flogging finished saying that she should be untied and then to prepare her for the Patibulum for the crucifixion, after she has regained consciousness.

They are a thief and slave of 36 years old, named Faustina. And another anarchist, accused of murder, like Rebecca of 31 years old. Her name is Flavia, of free status.
Rebecca is laid on the ground and lets out a loud scream of terrible pain and burning as she feels both dirt and dust entering her nasty wounds on her back that are still bleeding from the lashes of the Lictors, and are certainly likely to become infected.
There are two executioners to proceed and perform the crucifixion. While one of them holds her right arm still with all his strength, the other takes a nail from his bag and places it in the center of her palm and grabs the hammer from his belt.
Rebecca's breathing quickens in fear, but remains composed and closes her eyes to avoid looking. The executioner gives a single, strong and well-aimed hammer blow to the nail piercing the palm of Rebecca's right hand releasing a stream of blood. Rebecca's scream is tremendous and tears come out of her, crying from the acute pain.
The nail punctured and severed the tendon and damaged the nerve of her third finger and broke a vein, and broke the metacarpal bone of her third finger.
