Here it's a bit confusing in the timeline ;) I think I was assuming a different role when I saw her the first time. In this version of the story I don't know if I know of Nicole. Until yesterday, I was a high society woman, you know? I have a feeling the first time I see Nicole would be when I'm taken out to be caned. I'd be terrified seeing her scourged. I might not know the difference between caning and scourging. I might assume I'd get the same treatment. I might have a heart attack, or I might faint.

Well, if you have a fainting spell our experienced crux team will quickly revive you, usually with a bucket of briny water over your scourged back or a few small, swift kicks to your ribs.
As far as a heart attack? You won't get that lucky.
As far as whips and canes go you will get familiar with them and before you know it you will get into the swing of it.

This fainting, if occurs, would be before receiving any lashes. So my back is still smooth at this point. I'm probably too healthy to get a heart attack, though I'd wish I got a heart attack before all the tortures. I'd be so terrified when they chain me to the whipping post. The caning would be something I've never experienced before. Even though it's nothing compared to scourging, the pain would be beyond my imagination.
