Swish! is a British spanking magazine published between 1977 and 1995 by Gold Star Publications, based in Whyteleafe, Surrey.
An editorial in the first issue claimed that Swish was designed for the spanking connoisseur: ‘we intend to give you the most exciting stories of spanking, authentic accounts of personal experiences and the most colourful photographs of sexy bottoms you’ve ever seen’. An exclamation mark was added to the title from Vol.1 No.3 to symbolise a new style: ‘it’s all going to get even bouncier, smarter and cheekier!’ Early issues listed the editorial team as James Hughes, Richard Standing, and High McMichael, but authors and models were not named.
Swish! was distinctive among British spanking magazines in the emphasis that it routinely placed on M/F spanking as a form of sexual foreplay. In many of its photo-sets, spankers and spankees both shed their clothing, and often the final shots depicted simulated intercourse. Caning and whipping were depicted much less frequently than hand spanking. The setting was nearly always an ordinary domestic living room.
In editorial tone and photographic style, Swish! resembled the many mainstream soft-porn titles produced by Gold Star. Its female models, for instance, typically wore lingerie and stockings. Few of them ever appeared in other spanking magazines. Most of the written content was fiction, and that probably included the purported readers’ letters in the regular ‘Spankpost’ feature.
Strap-lines on the cover of Swish! declared it to be "The World's Top-Selling Spanking Monthly" and (less credibly) "Britain's Most Sophisticated Spanking Magazine". Never very high, its editorial standards deteriorated over the years
