Carlo (Charléno)
So, it was the turn of one of the most interesting and mysterious artists of the last century.
Carlo (born circa 1910), aka Charleno , was an anonymous, probably French fetish and BDSM artist whose work was published in the 1930s. Most of his works are devoted to femsub topics. His style was a precursor to that of John Willey.
I personally know a number of books illustrated by him, such as "Dressage", "Women's Bath", "Slavery", "Dolly, Esclavage", "Despotism of women", "Cyrus and Fouette", "Dolores Amazon", "The Triumphant cuirass", "Madonna of the cuirass Return", "Esclavage", "The Queen's Neckerchief" (all written by Alan Mcclyde), "The Modern Inquisitor", "Northern Perversions" (all by Juan Lapaz), "The Lord" (all by Aime Van Rod), "Chinglant Epruves", "Castle of Culinary Souvenirs", "Brulant Plaisirs"." (all by Desiree Van Roewel) and many other works in the sado-masochistic genre. Carlo also collaborated with the magazine Humour under the pseudonym Charléno. The real name behind these aliases is unknown to us.
Let's start with scans of several pages from the book "A toute volée (1936)".
