A satirical engraving from the British Museum by a famous caricaturist dedicated to Sir Elijah Impey, who was Chief Justice of Bengal in the late 18th century and later Member of Parliament.

Sir Elijah Impey, wearing a judge's wig, birches a young woman whom a boy holds on his back, grasping her wrists. The boy looks round with a grin, saying, "Tickle her well Dad its my turn next." Impey, raising his birch ferociously, answers, "aye aye I'll lay it into her." The girl says "Oh the Young Imp, I'll bring you both to Justice." On a table (left) are books: 'A Treatise on the Birch Discipline' and 'Female Flagellants'. Beneath are chamber-pots containing birch-rods, inscribed '[ra]jah Senr' and '[ra]jah jun.' On the floor (right) are two books: 'Potent Reasons why Judges should avenge themselves' and 'How to Keep Maids under'. On the wall which forms a background is a statue of Justice in a niche (the head cut off by the upper margin), one scale inscribed 'Suprem Power' much outweighing the other. On each side of it is a large picture: (left) 'Excessive Pride'. Impey, seated on a throne, receives homage from prostrate orientals. A young woman fans him and shades him with an umbrella. Murderous-looking ruffians with pikes, &c, and a banner with a skull and cross-bones, stand beside him and on the right is an executioner carrying a noose and axe (an allusion to Nandakumar, see BMSat 7265). 'Degrading Humility' (right) shows the interior of the House of Commons, with Impey kneeling at the feet of the Speaker (right), the young woman points accusingly towards him; birch-rods and chamber-pots inscribed as above are on the floor.

1) Ch. Avalanche. 2) Davanzo. 3) Félicien Rops. 4) Fernand Louis Gottlob. 5) Leon Courbouleix.
Ch. Avalanche is the name, or perhaps a pseudonym, of the illustrator of the spanking novel L’Amour fouetté by Gaston Vincennes. The book's exact year of first publication is unknown, but is probably 1920-1930. The cover for this book however was done by Mario Laboccetta.
It's mentioned that Ch. Avalanche could be the same artist as Wighead, I also read somewhere that Wig head could be Labocetta but so far no facts were found to prove any of these theories.
Davanzo was a spanking artist from the period of early 20th century French spanking literature, working for Collection des Orties Blanches. Davanzo could be the same as the artist Wighead, both perhaps being the Italian artist Mario Laboccetta, using the pseudonym Marilac. Below are his illustrations from the 1934 novel L’Éducation de Chérubin by Liane Lauré.
Félicien Rops (7 July 1833 – 23 August 1898) was a Belgian artist, known primarily as a printmaker in etching and aquatint. He is noted for his drawings depicting erotic and Satanic themes. Rops is furthermore important for being a pioneer in Belgian comics.
Fernand Louis Gottlob (1873-1935) was a French artist who produced illustrations for numerous Parisian newspapers and magazines including Le Rire, Le Sourire, Le Journal Amusant and L'Assiette au Beurre.
Léon Courbouleix illustrated spanking novels in the 1930s using the pseudonym J.X Dumoulin. His drawings are F/F, F/f and F/m. Besides spanking art, he also did some enema art. In the late 1930s Courbouleix wrote and illustrated two privately-printed limited-edition ‘memoires’ of the eponymous Suzon:
'Suzon au vacances' and 'Le mariage de Suzon', an advanced style of writing and illustration which started a trend of similar erotic ‘diaries’ which continued well into the 50's.
Courbouleix’ last illustrated work was published in 1953, he died twenty years later in Paris
