Good old Song of Monty Python, I love it!I thought we settled this years ago. There is only one Cruxforum anthem:
Indeed! But I wonder whether their movies would still be appreciated by political correctness today either!Good old Song of Monty Python, I love it!
I don’t know how it would be received if released today: certainly there was controversy at the time it was released..Indeed! But I wonder whether their movies would still be appreciated by political correctness today either!
Would fit very well with a show I saw the other day in a little Somerset village hall: “Godot Is a Woman”I suggested recently on Margot's thread (where there's news of an exciting Female Christ project) that the next big thing should be The Life of Bryony!

"Ghosted by Godot"Would fit very well with a show I saw the other day in a little Somerset village hall: “Godot Is a Woman”
Well now, that would be a spoiler wouldn’t it?Was she worth waiting for?
were Vladimir and Estragon women too?Would fit very well with a show I saw the other day in a little Somerset village hall: “Godot Is a Woman”
they weren’t in it, though they were mentioned. the cast were 2 women and one non-binary. The show was actually about the fact that they weren’t allowed to do “Waiting for Godot” because the estate of Samuel Beckett wouldn’t allow it. So in a sense they were “waiting for waiting for Godot”. While they were waiting, they did clown stuff, danced, and talked about why they were denied permission to put on the play. Highly recommendedwere Vladimir and Estragon women too?
Apparently there has always been such a prohibition; Maggie Smith and Fiona Shaw were going to do WFG but the Beckett estate said NO WOMEN The Silent Faces group I saw managed to establish that the ban apparently extends to trans and non-binary actors as well.I didn't know there was such a prohibition. I doubt Beckett would have objected. It's a play in which the sex/ gender of the actors is wholly irrelevant to the action - or absence of it.
Makes sense. Women always make you wait.Would fit very well with a show I saw the other day in a little Somerset village hall: “Godot Is a Woman”
He did indeed. In 1988 he sued a Dutch theater company to block them from staging an all female production. He lost and then tried to ban any productions of his work in the entire Netherlands.I didn't know there was such a prohibition. I doubt Beckett would have objected. It's a play in which the sex/ gender of the actors is wholly irrelevant to the action - or absence of it.
Allow me to step in and save you from the inevitable unpleasantness that will follow such a statement......Makes sense. Women always make you wait.
Absolutely! That's why we're willing to wait.Allow me to step in and save you from the inevitable unpleasantness that will follow such a statement......
"Women always make you wait."..... and they are certainly worth waiting for.
