Do the Admins agree, there should be a new, separate thread,on this, awful happening ??
I'm all for it !!
I think so. Many folk are upset by recent happenings so I let it go but the Help The Forum thread is there for the benefit of IM so he can quickly help sort out things and keep informed. I'll try to shift the conversation to the Coffee Shop.

When is World Duck-billed platypus Day?:confused:
Did anyone know that the male Duck-billed Platypus has backward-facing spurs on his front "wrists" to grasp the female during coitus? So to all the ladies on this site "Beware if Wragg says he intends to Fuck like a Platypus.
(there was a stuffed Platypus in the biology lab at school, an engaging little creature I thought (Prototype of the "Nifler" in "Fantastic Beasts".by J.K. Rowling)

I didn't know about the front feet. I thought the spurs were on the hind feet (only in males). I do know the male platypus has spurs which are venomous, apparently used for defense as well as for fighting with other males. Apparently people who have been on the wrong end of an encounter with a male platypus say that the venom is pretty painful.

(maybe the data saved to a back-up to be restored when we can pay again)
That is organised, we have a back-up that's not dependent on any external support or vulnerable to any blocking.

No comment, just news. As an aside, the New York Times says government restrictions forced it to pull its reporters out of Russia. I don't know how the things described in this article will affect Russian members of the forum. Apparently Western sanctions are also involved, not just the government.

I hope that our Russian CF members will not be completely cut off from the internet. Because our forum should actually be open to members from all over the world.:icon_pc::comp4:

BBC have decided to resume English language broadcasting from Russia. I've heard bulletins from their correspondents today. They're having to be very canny (and courageous), but it's good they're keeping the flag flying:

"We have considered the implications of the new legislation alongside the urgent need to report from inside Russia.
"After careful deliberation we have decided to resume English language reporting from Russia this evening (Tuesday 8 March), after it was temporarily suspended at the end of last week.
"We will tell this crucial part of the story independently and impartially, adhering to the BBC's strict editorial standards. The safety of our staff in Russia remains our number one priority."

Again, I apologize for the stupid question, but is it correct if I follow some members who I think have members who write interesting articles? Here, I have the option to follow certain members. Indeed, after joining this forum, I have found some great opinions and posts that I have read.

Yes, if you follow someone then your news feed (under 'what's new' ) will alert you when they post.

Word of advice, people. Don’t watch “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” (2022) alone at night, and then go for a night walk round a deserted town when the wind is making everything creak in a ghoulish and sinister way. I did, and look what happened to me.. :roto2rie:

Well, obviously! And if I wear someone else’s face as a mask, no-one will know it’s me!
As long as it's not William Shatner's..... ;) whilst carrying a great big Kitchen knife.. !!

Today is Pi Day, 3.14...
Does Pi exist in the real world? Certainly, at an atomic level, there are no circles or spheres--all the fields are "bumpy". Planets and stars aren't perfect spheres either.

From Eugen Wigner, "The Unreasonable Effectiveness of Mathematics".

There is a story about two friends, who were classmates in high school, talking about their jobs.
One of them became a statistician and was working on population trends. He showed a reprint to his
former classmate. The reprint started, as usual, with the Gaussian distribution and the statistician
explained to his former classmate the meaning of the symbols for the actual population, for the
average population, and so on. His classmate was a bit incredulous and was not quite sure whether
the statistician was pulling his leg. "How can you know that?" was his query. "And what is this
symbol here?" "Oh," said the statistician, "this is pi." "What is that?" "The ratio of the
circumference of the circle to its diameter." "Well, now you are pushing your joke too far," said the
classmate, "surely the population has nothing to do with the circumference of the circle."
