The Marchioness mercifully fainted from the branding. She had hoped that she would have passed out for the other tortures, but she believed God had punished her by keeping her awake through her unconscionable ordeal. To revive her, the guards threw the bucket of water-vomit on her and the nuns took custody of the Marchioness to prepare her for her execution later that day.

As you requested, @Aluafaen

I would like to ask if in the future you could also do execution by impaling?

according to eastern traditions?

And now, the finale of THE MARCHIONESS…

16 July 1676.

In preparation for the Marchioness’ execution, the nuns clean her wounds, braid her hair into a bun, serve her final meal, and dress her in a long chemise with a hood and a rope around her neck as directed by the Procureur-General.

As part of her sentence, the Marchioness is required to perform the amende honorable. Escorted by an abbé and with a torch in her hand, the Marchioness is taken to the Cathédrale Nationale to offer penance.

The Place de Grève, Paris is overrun with spectators vying for a glimpse of the execution of the Marchioness. As the sun begins to set on 16 July 1676, the executioner raises his broadsword for the coup de grâce.

After the execution, the Marchioness’ body and head are tossed into a bonfire as she is denied a burial because of her heinous crimes. Suspecting that the Marchioness had committed other dastardly deeds for which she had not been charged, the authorities conduct a thorough investigation into her actions over the last several years. The investigation reveals that the Marchioness may have poisoned upwards of 30 other people, mainly to test the potency of her poisons on the unsuspecting infirmed in Parisian hospitals.

The End.

As with THE WITCH and FALL OF THE TEMPLE, I’ll post THE MARCHIONESS in sequence in this thread.

your pictures are absolutely beautiful! I was a little hoping she would be naked, and the crowd would see her burnt pussy, but it's great!

can I ask, I noticed that you depict stories from the Middle Ages and early modern times, I would like to ask if it would be possible to depict breaking a wheel, or impalement? if that's not too brutal...

I'm glad you all enjoyed THE MARCHIONESS.

@Aluafaen , that is an intriguing suggestion. I'm not against doing an illustrated story based on such topics, but that subject matter has to be based on a historical event and be compelling stories that interests me.

For anyone wondering, I based the look of my protagonist in THE MARCHIONESS on a real life actress like I did with THE WITCH and FALL OF THE TEMPLE. The Marchioness is modeled on the pinup girl icon and one of the early femme fatales, Rita Hayworth.

No wonder she’s so gorgeous, Rita Hayworth was a genuine beauty!

your pictures are absolutely beautiful!
Yes, I agree 1000%- @Steve is awesome

But will we ever see more of your work, @Aluafaen please? You have wonderful talent too!
I was a little hoping she would be naked,

Whereas I was very glad she wasn’t! That beautiful white pentinent dress she wears is just perfect! There’s plenty of naked art in the forums, not enough sensuous art here imho. We need more sexy clothed victims, imho…

I’m not bias just because I fetishize such clothing, am I? :roflmao: :azote:

for all those who don't know, I've stopped 3D creation indefinitely, and after consulting with the admins I voluntarily had my thread locked here, I'm tired of 3D creation, and the wasted time I spent on it... I don't plan to return to 3D art for now...

but I like to look at other people's art, although I don't like AI creation, I don't condemn it... I look at everything and I like some more, some less.

Ah, well thanks for clarifying, yes I understand you did put a lot of time and effort into it. Thanks for locking and not deleting your past work and it’s good to see you here! Enjoying the view, I see!

I think that @Apostate will appreciate that most of all! Fantastic art. Especially that last beheading one. You have really spoiled us recently, with one great series after another!

Thank you all for the likes and comments. I wanted to close out this celebratory year strong and I didn't even realize I'd end up doing 3 series.

Good observation, @Loinclothslave on the Marchioness' final attire. Besides that is what the real life Madame de Brinvilliers wore to her execution, I wanted to show the stark contrast between what the Marchioness was wearing at the start of the series (highlighted by the new teaser illustration) compared to what she wore at the end. She was a member of the aristocracy with wealth and prestige, used to wearing the finest clothing Paris had to offer. Her heinous crimes were based on greed, and in the end she was dressed in a simple chemise without shoes or hose. Unlike other members of the aristocracy who went to the scaffold in their own fine clothing, she was condemned to go there as nothing above a commoner.

I was certainly was not the first artist to depict Madame de Brinvilliers' ordeal, so I took some aspects from the art of those that preceded me. Here are some that I found in researching the story. Note the last picture is actually a sketch drawn on the day of the real life Madame de Brinvillier's execution. It is the only surviving portrait we have of her. You will note the long chemise and hood she is wearing, which is bound tight around her neck by a rope.

Before I post THE MARCHIONESS in sequence, I wanted to highlight something that may not have been seen due to the resolution requirement of images.

The Marchioness is my first villain protagonist so I wanted to do something to mark that in the illustrations. In the closeup of the teaser illustration, you can see the shadows on her face form a skull.
