Crux (Yahoo group) - the original online Crucifixion group which eventually found a home at Yahoo. Crux was deleted by Yahoo in 2005, the year CruxForums and its sister/rival CruxFoundation (see also) were started, and most members moved to one or both of those new groups.

Crux Foundation - the "official" successor to the original Crux group, founded by the moderators of that group. Set up in 2005, the same year as CruxForums, when Yahoo deleted the Crux group and a great many other adult groups. More private and more exclusively dedicated to crucifixion, this group sadly went offline in 2021.

Helmut: a pioneer 3D artist from the early days, especially in the themes of female crucifixion and galley slaves. As a founder member, he played a key part in getting the Forums going, and especially in insisting they were an open-access site. Many nervous newbies remember Helmut's gentle, truly gentlemanly, good manners and kindly encouragement.

I’ll be adding a whole bunch from my own fiction, as well as ones we have collected over time on this site that we may have missed in the first go-around.
 
Okay, I’ll start with artists:

Algabal: An experienced executioner known for his detailed digital art featuring poor women enduring crucifixion and breast torture. A bit of an inspiration to me.

Archstanton: Mostly dedicated to hanging, Arch has been known to dabble in crux, and has depicted many a member of cf crucified. He is a skilled 3d modeler, and has made many a face and body sculpt with a keen eye for accuracy and realism.

Boyoboy: An artist who works in Daz studio depicting the sacrificial crucifixion of queens among other themes. His crosses are almost gentle. Almost.

Cadre: prolific comic artist and prop-maker master. His crosses have caused so much pain and pleasure.

Crumera: the queen cruxer, chief executioner of Pentecosta, and highly prolific artist, with a back catalogue deeper than an ocean, each image from his time travels better than the last! He primarily crucifies women, but has been known to play around with other executions.

Hornet1ba: the master of all things digital, a skilled 3d artist and AI aficionado, who has created many erotic animations and series as he continues to push the limit on what is possible with a PC

IgnikaMarkus: A 3d artist with a focus on the little things. The finer details of the crucifixion. His fantastic renders show both realistic and stylized girls as they suffer on crosses, beautifully pinned for all to enjoy.

Jastrow: highly prolific and highly praised in equal measure, Jastrow crucified one woman a day for a whole year. His style of cross was based on his own understanding of the underlying mechanics of crucifixion, and he made sure to show just how much it would hurt.

Jeddak: Retired crux artist most famous for his magnum opus “The Serpent’s Eye” a methodical and detailed depiction of the execution of Sabina via crucifixion. A must read story, with art that is unmatched.

Jucundus: A master of his trade, an artist who is unmatched in technical ability and scene composition. His renders drip with quality and attention to detail, and also they are really, really, sexy.

Loum Rote/Esday/Hesday: his name has changed many times, but his art has been consistently erotic. He started with Anastasia, but has now crucified hundreds. For him, nails are like adorning jewelry for the beautiful naked women that dance for us on the cross

Noone102000: An artist working in Daz studio best known for his lavish renders of various perils and executions, who has produced some fantastic crux work

SkatingJesus: King of the crux hill. One of the most popular crux artists ever. Sarah Danarios alone is a legendary crux victim, and his long-running Andaroos series is both thrilling and very, very erotic.

Zcruxx: A digital painter whose crux art takes on almost a surreal tone. Demons, witches, all loving depicted nailed and naked in his beautiful rendered styling.

Feel free to add any that I’ve missed! And feel free to change up the definitions to suit the thread

If we can insert a ton of hyperlinks into the final lexicon, it might make sense to include their threads as well. :D

Now for the ones that are just for me:

There are a few that already have definitions, but I have more to add! I can’t resist, hahaha.

Braid: A braid involves intertwining three or more strands of hair in a patterned formation. Women in Pentecosta are renowned for their braids of tremendous length and thickness. It’s a versatile style that can range from simple plaits to intricate designs, suitable for keeping the hair protected as a woman works in the fields, services her master, or dies on the cross.

Bun: A bun is created by twisting hair into a coil and securing it at the back or top of the head. It’s a classic and elegant style that keeps hair neatly away, perfect for formal events, or executions like beheading. Sabina wore her hair in a bun on her cross.

Cross: The cross is the ultimate tool of torture, perfected by the Romans as an erotic spectacle, where the victim is nailed naked, lifted up, and left to suffer. Often times the victim would take days to perish suffering tremendously the whole time. The typical cross is T shaped, but there are as many creative shapes and variations as there are executioners. (Here we can add Yuessby’s fantastic breakdown of the various types of cross).

Crown of Thorns: For many women their hair is their crown, but sometimes that is not enough. Made from various thorny branches bundled together into a tightly woven circlet, the crown of thorns is the ultimate way to debase a woman who would be queen or a prophetess who has gotten too uppity.

Empress Emilia: A mostly fictional character, obsessed with pleasure and pain. She takes great joy in sentencing the women of Pentecosta to painful and erotic ends on the cross.

Hair: Hair can be many things too many people. But for the crucified woman it is perhaps the one thing that they still have that remains theirs. Hair can be many different colors, textures, lengths, and can be done up in many different styles for an execution.

Hair tie: A thin elastic, ribbon, or piece of twine to tie the hair up in various styles for various reasons. No sensible woman would be caught without one.

Pentecosta: An evil empire, under the thrall of the sadistic tyrant Empress Emilia. In Pentecosta women outnumber men by a truly staggering ratio. Life is cheap, and crucifixion is a frequent occurrence.

Ponytail: The slaves hairstyle, and Emily’s favorite hairstyle. A ponytail gathers hair to be tied at the back of the head or nape of the neck with a hair tie, twine, or a clip. Ponytails are both practical and sexy, highlighting the length and beauty of the hair while keeping it out of the way. It’s a simple, easy style that can be worn high or low, keeping hair out of the face and highlighting the wearer’s features, or the agony etched on her face.

Rapunzel: Rapunzel was a fictional character with hair so long and strong that a man could use it to climb her tower. For us, it is slang for those women, fictional or real, who have grown out their hair to impressively long lengths.

Agony: The primary purpose of crucifixion is to cause as much agony to the condemned as possible. The agony component is critical to a successful erotic execution on the cross

Crucifragium: a method of hastening death by breaking the legs at the shins with a club. A cruel mercy blow.

Death: Execution is the stated purpose of the cross. There are many ways that the victim can die, and the exact mechanisms are debated among the learned members of the forum. Footrest/Supedendum: A platform to nail the feet of the condemn to. These can be shallow, at different angles, or allow full standing depending on the executioner. A footrest often prolongs the execution by reducing the strain on the arms throughout the crucifixion.

Golgatha: The hill of the skull where the crucifixion of Jesus Christ took place. A golgatha in cruxforums terms is a trio of women crucified, often with the woman in the center crowned with thorns in imitation of Christ. Women are often crucified in trios in this way.

Hammer: A simple construction implement, used for driving nails into various places to secure planks, patibuli, tituli, and screaming women to crosses

Nails: The nails used for crucifying women are typically thick square Roman nails. Various sizes can be used, once again depending on the executioner, and most commonly they are made of old iron, pig iron, or for a lucky few, in a more modern era, stainless steel

Spear: many guards and soldiers carry spears of various kinds in their standard kit. It can be used for many things, either a quick merciful death with a piercing thrust just below the breast to the heart; or a way to deliver a sponge filled with water or vinager wine to the lips of the condemned.
 
Carnifex - literally “butcher” in Latin: A man who processes meat. In our context carnifex means executioner, and the meat is the naked victims being nailed to crosses

Lictor - A Roman soldier or hired hand tasked with whipping or flogging as a form of corporal punishment or as a preliminary to execution lictors often work in pairs, as part of a crucifixion team. Lictors use a variety of implements, depending on the desired severity of the punishment
 
Some miscellaneous ones, in no particular order:

Petra of Nazareth - A zealous woman who met her end on a Roman cross. Suspiciously similar in appearance to another Petra.

Pigtails - a hairstyle where the hair is divided down the middle and tied into two symmetrical ponytails or braids on either side of the head, typically lower. Often considered particularly humiliating to wear on a cross

Sabina - A young woman who was drawn, inexorably to the cross in Jeddak’s The Serpent’s Eye

Steve - Skilled digital artist famed for his intricate line work and long image series “Petra of Nazareth”

Fucknailing - when the condemned is pounded in two ways at once. Nailed through the wrists and fucked simultaneously. In many executions, within our many fantasy worlds, and especially for beautiful women, fucknailing is a routine part of the humiliating and painful process of crucifixion.
