It is signed "Gier". But I don't know anything about this artist. Except that he must be French or Francophone, given the small text next to the signature.
Any ideas someone?

I like the textures and colour.. though they do suggest “blood and guts” to me, and I’m pretty sure that’s not what he was going for!

I can't id it, but it definitely looks like a Lyndon production. I didn't buy much of their stuff back in the day. My meager allowance went mostly to HOM or RDF in New York.
