"The pounding of the spleen" (in French 'le martèlement de la rate'). I don't understand. What is the interest ?
Is the victim a girl or a boy ? There is a priest, it seems. Who are the two woman ? Is one of them her/his mother (the one with the hat) ?
Can anybody explain it to me ?
The picture canbnot be found on internet; Where did you find it ?
Links about this museum (sorry, no English translation)
Tulle is the hometown of former president François Hollande

It was a medical procedure in rural Limousin, performed by the local blacksmith, to 'cure' various internal ailments - honest, I'm not kidding -

this is a fuller account, but behind a mini-paywall, €1 !

Interesting. I guess that makes the enlevement de "ma" rate 50 years ago an international affair. A drunken American sailor ran a red light in Washington DC, right into the driver-side door of my Volvo 244. Happily the Volvo's famous roll bar saved my life. At nearby GW hospital, a Pakistani surgeon removed the rest of the spleen out of precaution. I flew Icelandic to Gothenburg to buy a replacement Volvo then, being a photojournalist, drove around Scandinavia photographing. Ah, those were the days! Thanks for the links, Eulalia. I think l'Assistance Public has given up "martelement". At least my Carte Vital doesn't cover it.

#2 : It looks like John Willie (Gwendoline)?
I actually remember the artist, but I couldn't recall his so I didn't try to id it. It's not John Willie or Stanton, but its is from one of the Bizarre Comix publications from around the mid 70's. I can't swear to it, but I think the artists was Jim, and that piece was from this issue. Thanks for the reply, btw.
