The Pear of Anguish is shown to the delinquent and then used.

a couple more from my latest pear set where it is opened all the way

If it is fully opened, then most likely she's snuffed: even the "modern" pears made for bdsm plays open 3 inches, while medieval one were capable of 5 inches, more than enough to wreck all of my innards ,,, And watch it if when you close it: the tongues are quite capable of catching-in and damaging the soft tissue...

As part of the set he does open it up and show it to her prior to inserting it. The tool will defiantly cause massive damage to the poor woman. It is unlikely that she would be able to recover at this point.

My home made one opens up to 6.5 inches but 2.5 - 3 is about the limit of what I can take. That said, it's only 3D printed plastic so the average vagina will be able to exert enough pressure to bend or even break it if anyone tried to open it too wide. And of course mine doesn't have the sharp spikes on the end :)

A beautiful and well made device. My worry about using one would be not knowing what damage it was causing. There is a fine line between stretching skin and tearing it and as it is all internal I would have no idea. Plus I dont have a vagina, so its very hard for me to know. But they are fun devices and the physiological aspect alone would be very powerful. I really do like hearing from women what their thoughts are on tortures and especially the pear. I can then use that in the videos I make to better portray victims.

Be careful, Princess, if it breaks off inside, there may be sharp jagged edges that could cut or tear.

The medieval ones, if they existed, had points at the end of the petals that would pierce and tear the flesh. Definitely not for home entertainment.

Most historians believe The Pear is a fictional creation. The earliest possible reference is from the XVII century and seems to refer to a mechanical gag. All examples in museums seem to be modern "reproductions".

Perhaps you are right, although the Museum of Torture in Saint Gimignano, near Florence, have a pear they claim to date to the 14th Century and originating from one of the Florentinian Palazzos Dungeons.

Well my pear never gets opened very wide anyway and all the edges are smooth so I'm not too worried about it doing damage (not that it gets used very often anyway - it's more of a display item than a regular toy :))

"real" metal ones are a different matter entirely though...

The leaf sections are pretty thick so there's very little chance of it breaking so this is not something I am too concerned about but yeah, your point is valid. Personally I have full confidence that my design will withstand any abuse I'm ever likely to subject it to :)

Yes, that is what I have read, that there is little evidence the “Pear of Anguish” as it was known was ever used and that those in existence are 19th century creations. It was initially supposed to be used as a gag but could also be inserted up the vagina or rectum.
