Kristen's kidnappers pulled the van off the road into a secluded clearing. One kicked her roughly out onto the ground and the two dragged her up and began tying her wrists to two adjacent tree trunks.
"You sure about doing this?" said one man. "What about the ransom?"
"She needs to know not to try that again," said the other as he unzipped Kristen's jeans and tugged them down to her knees. "As for the money...we might be able to squeeze out a few more bucks if they see some marks on her. They'll know we mean it."
Kristen wailed pitifully through her gag as he cut up and stripped off her shirt, leaving her half naked and helpless.
"Settle down, sweetheart," said the man. "Spoiled bitches like you could all use a good whuppin. Teach you some respect."
The shock when the lashes began to sear across Kristen's back nearly caused her to black out. She soon began to weep helplessly as her captor struck her over and over. She didn't know how many times he was going to hit her, or if she would even survive it. She only knew that her waking nightmare grew more and more pronounced with each crack that echoed through the woods.
