I really like number 3. She is crucified and suffering for real. Probably at home. Perhaps by her husband. And her crucifixion lasted a lot. I remember seeing more pics from this series at it was already night and she was still crucified.
Does anyone have those pics? I can't find any of them!
I would be really grateful!

That's Diamanda Galás, photos by Annie Leibovitz. There's another one from the series with Hellfire in the background. What's missing are of course Diamanda's screams, those are monumental.

"Is the photo a shot from her performance or is it a set up?"
"After we did the picture it was because she wanted the cross, she took it home.
But this was more a collaboration to think of something new for a photograph but it's based on her work."

Really like that method of tying hands for the carrying/dragging the cross. Then a simple tie of the feet, drop the cross into the hole, done.
Probably no scope for dancing on the cross in the final pose, but a quick and simple method for punishment and humiliation of a slavegirl for a minor crime, I guess the strain on shoulders will be considerable.

I have tried it out on your cross. After a short time the edges of the patibulum expressed the blood supply from the upper arms and it was so uncomfortable that I went down quickly. I was not tailed.
