I like naked, and clean shaven for two reasons: First obviously I like it, and secondly it fits my view of how things would have been living in Roman times. Remember slaves were considered to be live stock and beasts of burden, why give then clothes? Also if slave was to be executed why would anyone let them soil garments that could be given to another slave? We take clothing for granted; one can go out to a "Big box store" and get an entire wardrobe any hour of the day or night." Except for the wealthy it seems highly likely that most people, especially slaves and perhaps even the Plebes, only had what they were wearing. As you can see I believe it's highly likely that everyone went to the cross naked, even J.C. In order to convince me otherwise you would have to prove to me that they had Targets, Kmarts and such in ancient Rome.
