Fit, Lovely Ladies Crucified

Go to CruxDreams.com
Hi Ducon! Your goods there at the market? I'd be interested in the dark one and the redhead slut. How much should they cost? Make me a two-pack offer!
I can identify with the one on the far left who appears to have brown hair with perhaps reddish highlights like my own.

I love the extensive detailing throughout the scene. Nice work, @ducon007 !

The redhead is worth a case of Riesling
Depending on what qualities the red one has, she would even be worth a crate of champagne!
That's why I want her, I'm prepared to pay an exclusive amount.
Red hair, red whip straps... hm, that'll look good when I'm done with her...

This new member of the Order of the Living Passion of Christ has completed her preparation phase, and is mentally and physically ready for her crucifixion. she stands before the cross she has maintained and preserved for her own crucifixion, soon to be crowned with thorns and led to her scourging. In a few hours, she will be nailed, and begin her six hour, life transforming ordeal. She will then be truly married to Christ.
After saying Vesmania and the Hour of Readings with her fellow nuns at 7:00 a.m. and saying Matins at 7:30 a.m., Sister Michaela had breakfast with all the novices in the refectory at 8 a.m. (the novices had a separate refectory, the rest of the nuns had 4 refectories). After praying, blessing Christ for the food that the monastery had produced through her hard work, Sister Michaela ate her meal, which was a half-kilogram loaf of bread and a plate of potatoes and other vegetables (mainly carrots, peas, celery, parsley, etc.). According to the monastic rule, it was forbidden to eat meat and dairy products, smoke tobacco and other intoxicants, and drink alcohol (the sisters could only eat vegetables and fruits with water or, on holidays, fruit juice). The nuns were to eat meals in silence, without turning around. turning in a different direction or looking at other nuns. The novice mistress and several other sisters walked between the tables of chairs, observing that each sister ate in silence, without turning around or looking at the other sisters. Although Sister Michaela was momentarily tempted to glance at the other sisters or even whisper to another nun during her first breakfast in the refectory, she ultimately managed to avoid breaking the nun's rule, even though she knew that if she allowed her mind to be overcome by the desire to sin, she would have to confess her sin (the temptation to sin itself was also a sin). From then on, Sister Michaela would banish every thought of sinning from her mind during meals in the refectory.
From 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. the sisters worked in the monastery, silently performing the task entrusted to them. Sister Michaela was given a bucket of water and a cloth, and she and three other novices were to wash the floor in the refectory. Even though the floor was cold and the knees of Sister Michaela and her friends were sore after washing the entire floor, they all endured the pain and cold with humility. The work was supervised by one of the nuns, who made sure that the novices worked in silence and cleaned the floor thoroughly. Sister Michaela felt that in this way she was serving the entire community. Even though she was only supposed to clean a quarter of the floor, and the nun supervising them focused on one novice at a time for a few minutes, Sister Michaela took no breaks, scrubbing every inaccessible corner of the floor. As she later learned through Bible study, it is man's duty to work so that his efforts will be rewarded by the Lord. Sister Michaela knew that if she did not clean a corner of the floor, knowing that none of the nuns would see the dirt there, she would be committing the sin of laziness. Even though her careful cleaning of the floor took longer, her knees ached and her body tired, Sister Michaela didn't care, not even thinking about taking a break or being careless.

Here comes an appreciation post specifically to the moment when the rib cage is visible, the extreme inhaling showing in a more tangible way we could say. It can be seen more or less depending on the actress/model and her pose.
Part 1: Today's guest Bruna.

Hope you don't mind me slipping a dragged to the cross moment, I don't know why I love that kind of moment a lot, the rib cage just shows how much they are pulling her arms and... okay, enough geeking about details.

Yes, that's right: This desperate and strained inhaling and exhaling... these are special moments and those contemporary witnesses who were able to experience it live as spectators in antiquity will have enjoyed it - just like the "dance on the cross", which in its bizarre movements was nothing more than a desperate attempt to breathe.

What bothers me immensely and what many artists, draughtsmen and model creators (including the makers of "The passion of the christa") get wrong is the depiction of the nails being driven through the palms of the hands.
This is wrong, because it would have been torn out due to the weight of the body!
The nails were definitely driven in below the carpus between the ulna and radius.

There's some artistic choices that could influence, Ramon started POAG in big part to criticise the church, and the way Bruna was crucified could have been to mirror the usual depiction of crucifixion in religion, with nails on the palm and loincloth, heck, remember passion of the christa (2005) came out one year after Mel Gibson's film (2004), so the influence is visible from miles away, minus the ropes and ammounts of blood on screen that scare any film rating asociation.

There's also practical factors in terms of filmmaking, that make difficult to achieve a practical and affordable effect of a girl on the cross with only nails. Without making a big wall of text that gets us off topic, let's just say that for the actress' safety and practical reasons (budget, props, physics, etc.), you can't always achieve 100% accuracy.

Ramon has done projects where the nail prop is on the wrist, but it moves and it's very noticeable, breaking the suspension of disbelief, at least more than a nail in the palm to me, since it's not easy to make an actress safely "hang" from her wrists and without her hands holding onto something. This would be easier to explain with a gif or image tho.

Everything you say is correct and understandable.
What annoys me (and no doubt many other lovers of crucifixions) is that nailing through the hands is already unrealistic in biblical and ecclesiastical depictions and Jesus crucifixes. It's a shame that this is still often the case today!
For film and photo shoots, it would not be necessary to play with the safety of the actors/models, but today's computer trick technology makes almost anything possible. However, I have to admit that this is certainly affordable for big Hollywood cinema movies - but probably not for crucifixion films, which would not even generate a fraction of such costs.

By the way: My thoughts on unrealistic and not historically accurate nailing through the hands was in no way a criticism of you!

Thanks for including the dragging to the cross!
Also appreciate the comic out-takes in another post which demonstrate her commitment to the art of filmmaking. All-in it’s a nice piece of acting, really hits the mark, and by all appearances she truly embodied (and enjoyed) the role.
