AI Howto

To your specific questions:
• I consider myself reasonably tech savvy. But if I had to pick, I would hazard that your posts may be a little too advanced for a complete beginner.
• Length is good. Including the screenshots is key.
• Workflows are more useful, as there are decent layman's descriptions of terms and tech everywhere online.
• I would like to see a start-to-finish complete workflow guide at some point. That would help put all these posts together.
What he said! I am about as technically literate as anyone you will ever meet, but I don’t have the bandwidth right now to learn this. But I know I will, at which point I will definitely be referring back to this, probably with questions. ;-)

What @Nyghtfall3D @ay42 and @SirMGBZ said. I have some experience with DAZ studio and Photoshop, your tutorials are accurate and very well done but still I don't feel ready to embrace this technology.
With all the obvious differences, it's like when I try to explain music theory to people that are just curious or willing to learn a piece a little more in depth.
Problem is that they just don't have years and years of specific training under their belt and so stuff that I consider trivial sounds completely incomprehensible to them. You are in full evidence a computer professional and I am not, and that makes a huge difference in this field.
That said, your posts are a pleasure to read and I have learned most of what I currently know about AI from you, so please keep teaching!

Should I focus on my workflows and personal tips or keep explaining basic things like what ControlNet does?
Well I found the step by step explanation how you practically work in Krita with controlnets interesting.

And I think it's a very good approach for a howto, to start from scratch with an idea of basic composition and style of expression you want - and then go through how you can lock down the AI to stick to that, while harnessing its randomness of generation to do the detail work.

Seeing how you use it in a workflow is a lot more helpful than just describuing 'this is what it does in pricnicple'

So for instance in playing around with the Krita plugin I've worked out how to use lineart and depth control layers and ended up using lineart in a very similar way as you describe ... it seemed obvious and intuitive how they work, to me.
But I never got what the segmentation control really does and now I do ;)

Wow. I'm really glad I asked for feedback since what you guys said above surprised me (maybe except for @malins, who I already know to be quite familiar with Krita AI Diffusion :)). I was leaning toward covering more details in future, believing that the reason for seeing little engagement from other creators might be that I've been dealing with things they already know. And it looks like I have misunderstood the problem.

It makes me wonder what the best course of action could be to remedy the issue. I don't want to just explain the concepts since there are many good guides for that on the internet. My primary motivation for this series was the realisation that only a few creators on CF seem to use AI to its full potential, while many started experimenting with it recently. I know many of them have great artistic eyes and skills, having seen their non-AI works. However, their AI works often contained defects or limitations, most likely stemming from their unfamiliarity with AI tools rather than from a lack of artistry.

As such, I still want to show them ways to overcome such issues. But now I need to find a way to do it without delving too much into details.

Next time, I will summarise what the previous few posts covered about ControlNets in a shorter and hopefully more intuitive manner. From now on, I will try to provide a high-level overview of the subject instead of explaining things like what each button does in the Krita plugin in detail.

I'll make similar adjustments in my next few posts, then determine what subject I should cover next and how, depending on how they'll be received.

Thanks much for the feedback, everyone! It's been a great help for me. :)
