If the cross is already raised up, haul both girls up with ropes on opposite sides, then nail them.

Or, raise the cross with one girl on it and haul up the second girl with ropes and the nail her.

Or, tie down one girl with her back to the cross, then put the other girl on top, facing her, so they are tit to tit. Nail through both their wrists and nail the bottom girl's feet. Raise cross and nail the feet of girl on top.

Complicated...but it could be done...I think...it's been discussed somewhere on CF as I recall..

I guess they expected that one of these two would denounce the other but they never did. That made the inquisitors really angry. And so they decided if they were going to be that faithful to each other, never giving in to the temptation of blaming the other to save themselves, they might as well suffer together to the end.

Hopeless ... we know it - in view of her sisters agony - shivering and shaking - it might be difficult to controll her teeth. Fear is not a good adviser.
