Faces are incredibly hard to get right (As you can see in my many attempts at this sort of thing). I really have to stop trying to do this stuff with Facegen - I tend to get better results doing it by hand. I think the most accurate likeness I've ever managed is Clara Bow, and she was done totally by hand, so I think that's definitely the best method (Though it takes much more time and effort)

Well that seems like a perfect excuse to illustrate the point by posting this rather enticing render of Clara being eaten by Louise (also a reasonably good likeness I think, though Clara is definitely more accurate)

Sidebar: back in 2005 Mabuse posted this Crucified Clara Bow on CruxFoundation, and attrIbuted her to "Karen Whitehill (ancient paintings + modern actresses)," of whom I have found no trace online.

Further excavations over on Foundation unearthed Jastrow’s 2006 effort at sating my unclean and unholy craving to see Lillian Gish naked.

Griffith contain a shocking find–a lurid photo that appears to show silent screen legend Lillian Gish naked and nailed to a cross before a painted drop of the Roman Forum. According to film historian, I. M. Jochen, who made the discovery of the sepia photograph, image the raises many, many questions. States Jochen, “Two theories exist to explain the photo. The first is that it was a studio test made in conjunction with a previously unknown scene in Griffith’s 1915 controversial epic film, Intolerance. Given the nature of the photo, it is easy to understand why studio executives quashed the scene and suppressed the photo for so many years.”

A second theory is that the photo documents some secret and kinky relationship between Griffith and Gish. Says Jochen, “Modern viewers may be shocked at the quirks of our film pioneers. They certainly were far more ‘progressive’ in their proclivities than we migh suspect. In all likelihood we will never know the real story behind the photo....”
