Indeed. My own favorite theme involves the good and innocent in the hands of the wicked.
Below, in order
1. A slave crucified to cover up a murder
2. St Julia of Carthage
3. A barbarian crucified basically for fun.
4. A woman framed for murder.

Mind you, most of the people on CF are here for the fantasy of beautiful women nailed naked to crosses. Many of those have spent way too much time researching crucifixion and know exactly how horrifyingly unsexy it was.
But the keyword here is fantasy. And you are one of the masters of visualizing that fantasy. Thanks. Lots.

Well, I will say, whether the story says that they deserve their fate or not, I can’t help but appreciate the amount of pain they are enduring or their crosses. And of course they look beautiful, elegant even, in their agony, the one of the left in particular is practically standing the get a full breath, which is simply stunning!
I love the X cross...in my story, ERIN was nailed to one.Come on, Wragg, Keep your cool. You've got much more important duties, right now !

I admit I didn't use the X cross very often but I tried it anyway some time ago (p 63 an 64 of this thread) :

I completely agree with you @Apostate : the keyword is FANTASY , and for me, it is important that it stays in fantasy - we currently are lucky enough to have tools to render it so realistically, with only polygons and pixels - so, let's enjoy it

I think that the traditional cross is more elegant, the X-shaped one always has the very sense of bdsm lounge. Not bad but I don't love it either. great animation.

I agree, too. I am an atheist, raised that way, so no religion to react against and reject, and I still feel a frisson at the traditional cross.

It is ironic but I think that is not the case. I feel that the shape of a "T" cross can imply greater creativity, the way in which with two simple crossed timbers you can play with a different location for hands and feet.
I feel that the "X" cross conditions whether or not the arms and legs should go in a very similar way between crucifixions.
The Christian context is not so much because in fact I am quite indifferent, but I am definitely attracted to the posture and barbaric stories related to Romans.
By the way, I adore your demonic crucifixions ... Impregnta everything of a more interesting and fantastic aura.
I like the X cross because the victum once nailed is totally open and exposed...like ERIN was in my story.
