It is a very severe torture, all those condemned dungeon slaves deserve their fate. Does the evil malice of the evil sorceress drive a dark magic, that keeps the slaves alive through such fatal torture, so that their deepest prolonged suffering feeds her malevolent power?

The Arena

Hmm, I just thought of a cool 40K related one - slaves hell’s in Commorragh. They get tortured to enhance their suffering which in turn enhances the Drukhari’s enjoyment of slowly drawing their souls…
perhaps the slave from “A Torturer’s Tale” vignette by Gav Thorpe? Or Haemonculi torturing some captive slaves by flaying their skin and worse for the pleasure of an ancient Archon?
or a Coven of Wyches wielding their Agoniser whips.
Can’t half tell why I picked Dark Eldar back in 1999 when I first became interested in miniature war games..
