Yes, it’s the double dealing and betrayals that make espionage stories interesting. The agent is always vulnerable and expendable in some, unbeknownst to her, larger scheme of things. Something I’ve always sought to develop/exploit in my stories here on CF.
And an excellent job you do too, tingeing your romantic masochistic fantasies with just enough brutal reality and eroticism to keep us hanging on your every word.

Joan of Arc was not put on trial by the Inquisition, but by an ecclesiastical court, having the authority to judge cases of alledged heresy and to pronounce death sentences!
A court comprised entirely of men . Joan was a "maid," a teenager. She was not the only young person destroyed by the medieval authorities, but she is probably the most famous. She is, to this day, an engaging, tragic and heroic historical figure.

She was thrown to the wolves by the king who could not be seen to defend someone accused of heretical practices. The ecclesiastical court was a mask to cover the political issues surrounding Charles VII's legitimacy as king (if I recall correctly).

In college, I saw the Joan movie with Leelee Sobieski. I thought she was fantastic in that role.

Strangeland (1998)

"Captain Howdy" preys on girls on the internet and subsequently performs extrem body modifications on them. Current favourite is Genevieve (Linda Cardellini), who is put through her paces in more than one discipline.

Amongst the pleasures bestowed upon her and her fellow sufferers are sutured lips, gibbetting and hardcore needle play.

If anybody wonders about script and acting; they are present, and that's it. The film works first and foremost through its highly fetishised body-mod aesthetics, a department in which it is an absolute go-to.
Just as a comment, Linda Cardellini is a good actress. Strangeland may have been her first movie, and maybe she needed the work :D. That film is about as mainstream kinky as it gets IMO.

Where is Strangeland available... anyone know?

Balls – Für Geld mach' ich alles (2022)

The concept of this German TV show is to confront the candidates with ever escalating steps of a certain task until only one remains who is willing to go through with it. In this episode our lass Jenny has to engage in some horse play whilst being dressed as a ponygirl. To top it off, she receives a branding to her buttock. Her first question afterwards: "Does it at least look good?"

I do not watch the telly, and this is why. Although this particular sequence is entertaining for obvious reasons, I find the overall concept questionable.

I don't either but why do you think blood sports have always been so popular? Human nature.

And the second part of human nature is some people are will do all kinds of stupid things for money or 15 minutes of fame.

On the other hand I have an acquaintance who got a brand on his arm because he thought it was "cool". So if you ARE going to do something that dumb, why not get paid for it?

By the way ALL these "reality" shows are fake. I have a cousin who wrote scripts for the first couple of seasons of "Survivor" when it first got started.
