In s second picture, the younger woman seems desperate, she’s losing her hope and her strenght and ready to give up to flames.
Older wonan’s face is much more interesting to me. She’s in pain, but there are defiance and strenght, like she could start to feel the pleasure behind the pain, sucking more and more power from the flames, knowing she’s going to win eventually. She could be a witch, who knows that flames don’t harm her and she just have take the pain, live the moment and take most out of it.

Yes. Burning for real is very bad and if people are being burnt alive, they will scream. I know someone who almost died on burns. Severe pain came afterwards and life threatening situation after few hours. If being burnt alive, I 'm not sure which is the worst, the actual pain or the realization that it's own skin and flesh which is sizzling.
