Wonderful work! A scene that repeated itself so many times throughout history. I’ve studied the history of warfare in Greek and Byzantine Asia Minor, and you depict the fear and confusion and despair that so many women and girls must have felt as they were torn from their families and lives, very likely raped by terrifying men speaking a foreign language, and led off begin their new existence in the slave markets of Tarsus or Aleppo and then the houses and beds of the men who bought them.
Great drawing! I like the wooden yokes. Either you behave and get to sit in the cart, or you're locked in a yoke, dragged barefoot across rough ground with no way to resist or defend yourself.
