How do you find driving in Britain with the steering wheel on the left?
I've never driven them I'd be shitting bricks !! (Due to the rarity of them.) My Ford Focus (yeah boring) is a totally different beast...!!

Do you mean cars like this, or cars in general? I imagine these cars have the steering wheel on the correct side for Britain, do they Baracus?

That Chevy doesn't look so different to the car I learned to drive in, which was a beast of a thing with none of the modern conveniences like synchromesh or power brakes or automatic choke or fuel injection or even a decent bloody handbrake!

It's only a question of what you're used to. I've done most of my driving in Australia and Britain, which drive on the same side. Earlier this year I was over in Europe and drove a French hire car in France and Germany, which I've done before. It takes a little getting used to but it's not that hard. I used to take my own British car to the continent (on the "wrong" side) and I preferred that as I knew the car, it felt more natural, but of course you are sitting on the wrong side for overtaking and toll gates and parking barriers etc.

Some obscure ones for your perusal...
(I've cruised round Hemsby in the last one )20180827_104011.jpgFB_IMG_1535362668847.jpg20180827_104316.jpgFB_IMG_1535362618842.jpg

I like the Chevy Bel Air, but my favorite in that kind of shape and era is the Plymouth Fury 1958.
Because of Christine, obviously!:D
I did have a photo of '58 Plymouth Fury....somewhere amongst my photos. hopefully I'll find it one day....

I've driven my own car in Europe and hired a LHD in the States and Europe, you soon adapt, windar, though I prefer my own. Overtaking no great problem, in practice not much is done on single carriageway roads in Europe, they are too busy.

I do agree about toll gates and parking barriers though, modern cars are almost impossible to shuffle between front seats, bring back the bench!! benchseat.jpg Also far more useful for fun with a friend!!

Its awesome because when you meet someone on the highway its so much easier to draw your sword and engage in combat :)

That’s exactly why Brits drive on the left.

In the Middle Ages you never knew who you were going to meet when travelling. Most people are right-handed, so if a stranger passed by on the right of you, your right hand would be free to use your sword if required. (Similarly, medieval castle staircases spiral in a clockwise direction going upwards, so the defending soldiers would be able to stab down around the twist but those attacking (going up the stairs) would not.)
