I am starting to write Part II. However, I'm writing Flogged to Death which is likely to go on for another week or two. Also, I have a new story I'm fooling around with. So it will be a while before I can finish Singapore II - a month or two. I could post in one of three ways:

Each chapter as it is finished, I would guess posting every three or four days but possibly longer intervals.

Wait until I have several chapters in a section ready and then post daily as long as they last. This might be a week or so before I start posting and then breaks of a week or more between sections.

Wait until I have the whole story completed (or mostly completed) and then start to post daily.

Which schedule of seeing the story come out would you prefer?

If it ain`t broke why fix it? The method you used in Part 1 worked perfectly,it gave the readers a regular daily chapter, so much more satisfying than posting sporadically and you are pragmatic enough to make adjustments if you pick up inspiration from posted replies. What`s not to like.
 
I’ve been writing “1492” on the “chapter a day” method, which is not the way I usually do it (I usually have at least a few saved up). I find either method works for me, although RL has slowed down my ability to maintain the pace on 1492 over the last few days

Generally, I do like to post daily. It keeps things fresh and moving, but am also aware that some readers struggle to keep up with that pace. The alert system here on CF can be kind of funky too. So one just has to hope people find the posts and are able to read them.

I find reader feedback on CF to be a delight, and enjoy equally banter and the more serious. It sometimes influences what I write. As PrPr says, feedback can offer new ideas.

Oh, and I should confess that although I may have a general idea of where my stories are going, I largely make it up as I go.

So, in answer to your question, PrPr. My advice is to just do what comes naturally. We’ll read it whether it’s freshly minted or been in the can for months!

I agree with Barb. For a one-a-day pace, I have it written out 75% before I post. Underway, one can pick up ideas to improve the story. My currently running story in 'Flooged to death' was written in response to Juan's challenge. It took me two days to write the outline, then I posted the first chapter. The rest was a matter of putting the snippets in the right order, and expand and link them into a fluent story. For the moment, I have posted up to episode #4, the #5 and #6 are finished, the remaining 3 need some improvement, but there is still time for. The finishing touch is often done when the chapter is already in the 'reply' box on the forum, just one click away from posting. That's the way I work.
If stories are posted too long at once, I often loose track by reading it.

I am glad to read that. I keep not getting notifications about certain threads (this was one, several times, and so is 1492*), and had thought it was because I sometimes check via a laptop and sometimes via my phone.

You keep your stories in your tight little?

*I have just realised that your last two stories, Lyon 1942, and 1492, have the same digits in the date. Does this mean that your next piece will be set in 2149?

Or 1294, 1249, 1429, 1924, or 2149. Barb must have quite a number of men(uscripts) up her tight little! :very_hot:

To be honest the end was really disappointing for me, i was almost sure that barb would end impaled on a stake.

Thank you for the praise. Keep in mind the ending might be just another cliff-hanger. There may be a Part II dealing with Moore serious charges against Barb.

It all started in August, when I ran across a 2017 post about an American caned in Singapore for chewing gum back in the 90’s. My twisted mind immediately thought of Barbara’s butt and how nice it would respond to the cane. And how she would likely defy the Singapore authorities and make it worse. I privately asked her about it and she jumped (literally) at the idea.

I immediately envisioned her on vacation in clean warm Singapore in a park and sticking used gum to a bench and being arrested. Remembering her posts about the heavy snow at her home last winter, I added the back story of her booking the trip.

Originally, I intended a rather short story: arrest, conviction, a dozen with the cane, and then a painful plane ride home. But the moment Barb encountered the police, I couldn’t keep her mouth shut! And it just snowballed from there. The more professional, reasonable people she encountered, the more she had to insult and defy them.

That’s enough for now. Let me know if you want more or not. Don’t worry about my feelings. If I don’t hear back positively, I’ll just shut myself up in a dark closet and eat worms.
