I think the best compromise is to rip off the loincloth as you are tied to the cross or it is hauled upwards. The nudity is part of the punishment and shame.

I mean it depends, the loincloth can be used for depicting the sponsor of the event. However, it can be thought to be choosen by the condemend. I remember that the commander of a shooting squad had to ask the one to be shooted "do you need an eye cover.?", so you might be asked if you need a loincloth or not. Funny side note I was once asked by a journalist what I wanted to ask a local politician, but my answer didn't make it to the article. I think since most of us want to show the penis to the crowd, even better erect we would choose not to use the loinclloth. Those who say they would, want to trick the executors to believe they need a loincloth, so they were crucified nude... I voted loincloths (quelle surprise) but think you should present your own art in the way that most pleases yourself. If you like loincloths I promise to love them.

I especially liked the second image, Patrizio. It has been my experience that after you have been crucified for any length of time, you are not as likely to have an erection. The image seemed to have authenticity. Of course, nudity would be part of the torment, so as to humiliate the victims.
I modified you image a little, to keep it under 400KB. You are an inspiration to all of us 70+ year olds.
Wow, Jonathan, these images have so much going for them, as found in other threads here on CruxForums. The first has the arms over the top of the patibulum, nailed feet, cornu, erection and ejaculation on the cross.
The others, of course, deal with why do men like to torture breasts.
