Wonder story and art. The woman knows she must be executed for her crime but could not imagine the torturous way she would be executed. The cross is a lifeless object that tirelessly torments her body. Her executioner seems pleased she will have hours to regret her misdeeds as she slowly expires on the cross....

Of course at one point in Roman law a slave could only testify under torture.
For a pretty good history on torture and it's effectiveness I recommend you read "The Big Book of Pain" by Mark P. Donnelly and Daniel Diehl published by The History Press.
But in terms of RP Doc and I seem to get a lot of mileage out of our interactions (that's a shameless plug for more of you to come out and RP with us).
