Fixed with one hand to the wood that will soon carry her ... the other three nails she'll hang from stuck into the grass at her feet ... she could frantically try to get that nail out with the hand that's still free but she knows it's useless, what's coming can't be escaped and, just as it says on the board that will go abeove her head, she is after all a thief.The screams of the notorious rebel being crucified filled the thief with dread.
Instead all she can muster, a futile attempt to cover herself, while she's frozen watching it unfold before her ... "the exact thing he'll be doing with me ... how many blows of the hammer, how many of the racing beats of my heart until he is finished with her turns and takes two steps and..."

hm I wonder how the two on top got there.
Were they nailed to that long crossbeam on the ground and that was then pulled up by some big pulley or crane construction?
And fixed to the posts how?
... it looks like it's more permanent.
So I guess the top crossbeam was already there and they needed to get the victims up.
Tying ropes around the wrists, leading those over the top of the high beam and pulling them up, and guys on ladders waiting to nail them?
The victims had better not kick too much or they might topple a high ladder! So maybe after they're pulled up by the wrists nail the feet first - someone at ground level could do that, and only then they climb all the way up and nail the wrists?
Or maybe the victims are made to climb up a ladder themselves by threatening them with even worse fates?
Seems a practical and feasible plan. Go for it.

Same with me, but it needs to be your own invention. So, see what catches your imagination.

In my thoughts rope harnass around their chest/ shoulders to hoist them up.
Wrist pre-roped to easily outstretch them in the position where they will be fastened.
While their wrist are nailed their (tied)feet can rest, on the top of the lower beam while also roped to the standing beam,
After that nail feet in postion as required.
Remove ropes and repeat for other top spot.
Lower positions can be done much easier.
@malins methods could also work but I would have the feet bound together before raising

All of them have been reduced to 'Holzklasse' (wood class)
( this used to be the German term for third class seating in railcars, it would just be wooden benches while first and second class were cushioned)

Good discussion. Anyhow. Great image again. I kinda get the feeling crumera is getting better and better (if this is even possible) at mixing up the crux scenes. More inspired than ever.
