Barbaria and Windar - Southern Discomfort

In the fall of 1965, Barbara Moore arrives fresh from Minnesota to Kilmartin, a small town in Tennessee, to take a beginning faculty position teaching History at the local college, Kilmartin Academy. The times, they are a changin'-the Academy has admitted their first Black student, Harriet Jackson, and two young students from New York, Jerry Goldman and Alvin Washington have arrived in town on a quest to register voters. Needless to say, some of the residents, members of the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan, are a tad displeased by the newcomers and their messing with time-honored traditions.

The only thing inside the sterile, white room was a familiar looking, topless woman dancing feverishly on a silver stripper pole on a raised, rounded platform. She wore a sheer black thong and black fuck-me heels. She was vigorously fucking the metal pole with all her might. I watched her climb it, twirl around on it and then hang upside down from it. She looked at me with a fearful expression as though begging me for mercy. I watched her for a few moments with clinical interest. Her name was Teri. Doragon - People's Mercy

For a while society seemed to head back in the right direction, until the neo-fascist populists won the elections. A new government was formed and within two years society was transformed in accordance with party policy. Strict laws were instated against abortion and prostitution, women lost the power to vote and homosexuality was considered severely deviant. Of course they didn't go back to the mistake of having public corporal punishments, fearing another uprising. The Chloe Waterhouse incident was still fresh in everyone's mind. Instead they convinced the population that the country was now free of crime. Those that were apprehended and convicted as criminals were either sent to secret rehabilitation centres or, in some rare cases, executed in special prisons, far from the public eye. But people knew of course.

Lia leans in, her fingers caressing the short bristles of my buzz-cut hair, then trailing down to my face, tracing the contours with a deliberate, almost reverent touch. Our eyes lock, hers as blue as ice and… desire. The bright light catches her gaze, making it gleam with an almost supernatural intensity. She sighs, her voice soft and melodic, like that of a fallen angel, imbued with an otherworldly resonance. "For long is the way and hard, that out of Hell leads up to light." Her voice drops to a cruelly intimate whisper, "And you, silly boy, have only just begun your descent to Hell." Then she presses the button on the controller again. The chains pull me upward, the metallic clink echoing ominously in the dimly lit room. My toes scrabble for purchase but find only empty air. Desperation surges through me as I strain against the chains, muscles bulging and tendons straining like a steel cable twisted under the unrelenting pull. My body stretches taut, every sinew and fiber pulled tight, imbuing every inch of my body with a promise of something much worse to come. It is only now I start to realize that the nightmare I mistook for a dream has given birth to a new, stark naked reality.
