Beautiful art ! Any background story to these two works ?

More to the point, The second art work reminds me of the following.

There is also the hanging of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya who was 18.

Joined the Labor Front and worked in a factory; joined a sabotage unit engaged in guerrilla activities (autumn 1941), and captured within a few weeks by the Germans; tortured and hanged the next day.

On a bitterly cold morning in late November 1941, soldiers from Hitler's army led a young girl toward the town square of Petrishchevo, near the city of Vereya. A captured Soviet partisan, she had been savagely beaten and forced to walk barefoot in the snow. Under interrogation, flames had been held to her face to force her to reveal her name and the identities of her comrades; one young German officer left the room covering his face with his hands, no longer able to stomach the scene. Still nothing was learned—not the name of the 18-year-old partisan, nor any information about her fellow partisans, family or friends. Finally, the Germans ended her ordeal by hanging her in the village square, where her body was left for a month, in warning to all who dared defy the Nazi occupation.

The Germans left her body hanging on the gallows for several weeks. One of her breasts was cut off by a drunk German near Christmas Eve, and her body desecrated by Germans or collaborators.

This is quite a rare drawing by the famed renaissance painter Albrecht Dürer.
It depicts a girl awaiting her execution by burning,, the sack hanging from her neck being likely filled with gunpowder to shorten her suffering.
There is also text, it is however both fairly small and written in cursivve old german so I was only able to translate a little bit.
She was burned on a Sunday after Johannis (this is most likely the 24th of May) in the year 1508 and she was 16 years old.

*The only source on the Title is an old Facebook post of the Witch museum in Bamberg, so it is possible that this is just what the museum called it.

I like this drawing. Looks like she has a torture wound on her left side on the belly. Further it made me wonder how much pain it would have saved with a gunpowder bag around the neck. Just researched that self-igniting temperature of traditional black powder is around 450C. But a spark could have also caused the ignition and subsequent rapid combustion / explosion of the powder.

They give her false hope on a quick death. The bag should hang lower, closer to her heart and to the fire!

Pretty sure that "wound" is just damage of the artwork.

I am confusing that why those damsels in oil painting are naked? Even unwear the socks?? It' s that a traditional painting rules or the aesthetics temdemcy?
