While we fantasize about a wide variety of things here, our "specialty" is the execution of woman by crucifixion. So I seriously doubt that any business (even a bdsm/porn one) would ever advertise here.
Erm, a hardware store?

I would strongly oppose ads. First, who is going to advertise on this site? Coca Cola, Toyota, McDonalds? I don't think so. If BDSM site A advertises on B and B advertises on A to attract viewers from each other, I'm not sure how sustainable that is. And the history of Facebook, Google etc, says that once you have advertisers the site caters to them not the users. Money talks...

It was easily forseeable that PayPal would have to shut down in Russia (the only surprise is that they didn't do so several days ago) and alternate plans are in the works. By the time next month rolls around the matter will be taken care of.

As for crypto, it's simply too volatile to be of much use for this. If I send $20 in bitcoins today, by the time the hosting bill comes it could be worth $5 or $ 80 or who knows...And it isn't quite as untracable as people think. Remember, the hackers who shut down the Colonial Pipeline in the US for ransom that was paid in bitcoins? Well, somehow the US Government got most of the money back. So, obviously the transactions are traceable if the authorities wish to trace them.
I agree, this site needs to remain private. Raising the funds every month isn't the current problem anyway. It's getting the money from one hand to the other, and apparently that situation is being worked out.
As far as monthly hosting costs goes, it's not a huge amount to pay. With as many regular members as we have, raising that amount shouldn't be a problem if there was a easier or less complicated way to contribute. I currently chip in (thru Patreon) roughly 8% (of the $400) and will soon up that to 10%. It would take only 9 other members contributing a like amount, or 18 members contributing half that amount, every month to pay the hosting.
I do not mind chipping in, even knowing not everyone can or will contribute, because this community is well worth it.

and is the owner of this site anyone from Russia?

I haven't known much about it lately ...
Yes Imagemaker is from Russia. I already knew some of his publications before I discovered our forum. The problem is that I have always sent my monthly donations directly to Imagemaker via PayPal, which is no longer possible. I also always donated € 10 a month and if it seemed necessary, like this month, a second time.

I believe they are blocking direct payments to Russian accounts.
Unfortunately yes, according to The Guardian:
'Both Mastercard and Visa’s decision to suspend their Russian operations will primarily impact foreign payments, meaning local consumers will no longer be able to use their Russian cards abroad or for international payments online. Foreign customers will also be blocked from making payments to Russian companies or withdrawing cash within the country.'
While IM isn't a 'Russian company', I fear that any payment to the account he has for CF would be blocked.

The question is, are they blocking businesses and individuals, or just businesses ?

As I read it, all Mastercard and Visa accounts in Russia are cut off from the international networks. Russians can still use their card within Russia as they're operated there by a Russian bank, but they can neither make payments to Mc/Visa accounts elsewhere in the world, nor receive them.

I read that PayPal is continuing to process payments to and from Russia for a short time, for various technical and legal reasons, but it's only a temporary window.

It's individuals and companies that are blocked.

I tried to send money to IM yesterday and just now with PayPal and it was blocked. Even if it weren't, sending him money that he can't send to the hosting service is not of much use to the site.

Would it be possible for someone outside of Russia take over ownership temporarily to fix the cash flow problem until things return to normal (if they ever do)?

He has to create a revolut which is global and if the system blocks transactions through Russia, the work can be done with a vpn I hope so...

Some excellent news! Plan B is being put into motion. As a temporary solution while the crisis and sanctions unfold ImageMaker has made some slight changes to the donation process so that all will run as smoothly as before and this site will survive. More details to follow.
