I hope you can get home. Southwest Airlines has cancelled 2/3 of their flights. Buffalo, New York, could end up with almost 100 inches of snow when this is over (sadly, at least 27 people are dead and authorities have been unable to open or even check all the roads). California is due for a deluge from an "atmospheric river" later in the week.
I know that marijuana sales are legal in Oregon. Is that true in Seattle, Washington, as well. If so, maybe that will help some.

I have retired friends who are taking a cruise to Costa Rica for the new year (as will be clear, I prefer not to go anywhere). They are of course flying Southwest to the jumping off point (it is so bad right now the Department of Transportation is opening an investigation, and airports are stuffed with people's luggage which can't go anywhere). When they get to Costa Rica, they will find a flood of Nicaraguans (those who aren't in Mexico waiting to cross into Texas) fleeing the malfeasance of Daniel Ortega and his Vice President wife. Costa Rica is a well-run country, aside from Belize and maybe Panama (if you don't ask about the banks) the only one in Central America. Buffalo, New York, however has seen 31 deaths and counting, and there is so much snow it will be a while before they can get things open and account for everyone. California is being socked with heavy rain (mudslides) on the coast and snow in the mountains. People in Oregon are without power because of the high winds coming with that storm. I will stay put and wait out the cold. It is going to get up to 50 here tomorrow, after the bitter cold on Christmas Day.
