Manips By Phlebas

No nail shortage in this one - thanks to a member for the marvelous male raw material for this manip.

The barbarian was crucified by the side of the road near the gates, a strong man made helpless by nails and wood. These were the moments she lived for, when she could step outside the constraints of Roman womanhood and get her own back on a vulnerable male. Now to test him, will he cry out, or take his abuse stoically?

Your eyes lock with hers. What is she thinking? Is she wishing it was you there on that cross, her fingers entwined in your delicate parts?

That is an absolute WOW! Deeply dramatic and compelling.

Two new manips.

A new acquisition for the art gallery. The original was overdressed, I restored it to a historically accurate state.

Sister Immaculata Ubera meditates on the mystery of her order's patron saint, Saint Mary Magdalen Of The Cross. Contemplating the suffering of the holy saint is a profound experience for the young nun.

Christ on the Cross Adored by Two Donors - c1590.
The figure on the left is believed to be Dionisio Melgar, canon of the monastery where the painting hung for over two hundred years. The identity of the figure on the right has been the subject of debate. We now know that it is Don Francisco Rodríguez de Flebas. Don Francisco also commissioned the second version for his "private collection"; which passed to English branch of his family, who had changed to spelling of their name during the time of the Armada.

The "original' hangs in the Louvre.
indeed i have always loved this painting, which comes across as a very feminate looking jesus...of perfecto body, slim, smooth and angelic. A perfect specimen for the religious elders 2000yrs ago to make up trumped up charges against the young man, just to see his body near on naked writhing as he is nailed and hoisted up, all for their devine pleasure... i bet they were all creaming themselves under their robes when the pilate gave them permission to have him put to death by crucifixion. Little wonder they all stayed out to witness his writhing on the cross in that little loincloth, until the end... lovely

The rebellion has been crushed, and rebel Vivian is about to feel the full weight of Roman justice.

Any occasion is good for some gossip talk!:D

Good pic!
Yes, that’s Barbara of Mooria (dressed in red on the right) telling the others that the woman nailed to the cross deserves everything she got. False propheting doesn’t pay, especially when it gets up the noses of the local religious leaders and the Romans.

She’ll be nailed up next! As sure as my name is Saint Bartholomew of Antioch!

Bartholomew of Antioch was a nasty guy
Who condemned poor Barb to the cross to die
Her nearly constant complaining
Not to mention all the demeriting

He solemnly declared was the reason why
