I noted with pleasure your attention to Hypatia : you also gave me, under this circumstance, the opportunity to revert once more to the story of her life, her personality and her death. Although she was considered one of the most controversial women of her time, her personality has always arisen great interest both of scholars and common people including myself. May I add a personal detail as an additional motivation for my interest : the town of Alexandria where she lived is also my birth place. I viewed the Spanish movie 'AGORA' ,treating the episodes of
Hypatia's life , 3 times. I think that you have seen this movie too. As you probably are already aware of, Hypatia is the only female figure showing on Raphael's fresco 'The School of Athens' (1509-1511) (Papal Palace, Stanza della Segnatura, Vatican City).
