whether you agree with gay marriage or not, five justices just stole our constitution. Pray they don't ever go against you.Historic day in the USA! Congradulations to all my LGBT friends here!

No, today's was 5-4. Yesterday's was 6-3 when Justice Roberts has for the second time rewritten Obamacare basically saying this is what Congress meant, not what they wrote. In fairness, Nancy Pelosi did say "we have to pass the law so you can see what is in it..."The ruling was by a 6-3 majority, not 5-4.

The separation of power, a cornerstone of the U.S. Constitution, has just been plowed under twice in two days...
They do, all the time. And the constitutions is trampled over all the time by everyone in Washington. They only being it up when the other person pisses on it. But something good came out of the court today.whether you agree with gay marriage or not, five justices just stole our constitution. Pray they don't ever go against you.
Absolutely agree. But what is the precedent set in this ruling?Let me be clear on this. I am 100% for civil unions for everyone. I don't believe a government should issue anyone, gay or straight, a marriage license- remember separation of church and state- then if the church of your choice wants to issue a marriage license so be it.
My concern is the Supreme Court just took over the government. You may or may not like the end result but it sets a precedent that some day they can rule against something you believe in. Nothing more than five people in a nation of 350M people have to disagree with you to change life as you know it.
THIS is Orwellian...

I have actually read and studied the US Constitution and these rulings have the Supreme Court writing law, not saying the part of the law may be unconstitutional and order Congress to fix it.Absolutely agree. But what is the precedent set in this ruling?

In two rulings on the ACA Justice Roberts ruled first the penalties in the act were indeed a tax even though the President's legal team argued before the court it was not! He rewrote the law, not interpreting it.
Yesterday's opinion the Justice stated that what the law said was not what it intended... He handed power to the President instead of telling Congress to fix the law.
History repeats itself. One of Hitler's first acts in power was to take over health care...
My fictitious IMF can't exist if there is a rule of law. Consolidate power and it could happen...
It helps move the story along????Impressive legal acumen...how come we (ok, I) always lose when you defend me in Admi's court?

I was actually referencing the gay marriage law. What precedent did that set, and how did it trample over the constitution. Obamacare can go to as far as jackscares. $400 a month so you don't have to pay $100 a year is not worth it.I have actually read and studied the US Constitution and these rulings have the Supreme Court writing law, not saying the part of the law may be unconstitutional and order Congress to fix it.

Again... they wrote law siting the 14th Amendment and ignoring several other Amendments. Let's take it to PM if you wish to discuss further.
