Ah yes, she's Potamioena the Younger. When I was tormenting Tree :p by posting more or less daily notes on Virgin Martyrs on Admi's Milestones thread, this was my one on that lassie:

June 7th: Potamioena the Younger, Virgin Martyr, 304. A slavegirl at Hermopolis (now El Ashmunein) on the Nile. She resisted the sexual assaults of her owner, so he took her to Alexandria and handed her over to the Praefectus as a troublesome Christian. He had her stripped and slowly lowered into a cauldron of boiling pitch. Though hardly well-known, she's enjoying some attention among Black Catholics, as she's regarded -reasonably enough - as a Black African slavegirl martyr.

Not in that comic though :(

But it does add one nice detail, when she's kneeling before the Prefect, he just sentences her to be thrown alive into a cauldron of boiling pitch, but she begs him the favour of being lowered into it slowly, little by little, so she can prove her readiness to suffer for Jesus.

I would like to know if a prisoner's last request, at least in the United States, was to be executed in the nude would the request be granted? Hey if a prisoner wants to be naked when he or she dies it should be done.
 
PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of the Afterlife) are pleased you sent them off sans clothing as they are unfamiliar with such coverings and may have choked on it...
