Another sublime art by Ramon
Hi friend,New POAG video published. This time the UHD extended version of the movie Passion play short theater with mani unpublished videos so far as extra stuff. The quality of the images are excellent.
The main video is longer in length than the old version of Passion play short theater. But the bonus stuff has a surprising amount of video that didn't appear in the previously released version and that show different attempts to improve the scenes. I liked it and as an unconditional FAN of POAG it was worth it.Hi friend,
I saw that Ramon is now releasing his older videos in UHD. However, does this new video contain any new footage as well, like the previous "Ramon movie" clip? The added footage there helped the whole feel of the clip a lot.
Have you seen this new clip in its entirety with the bonus features added?
I respect the fact that there are many, many Ramon fans out there (I used to be one).Poster of the new published POAG video available on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/ondemand/experimentalfemalecrucif
I imagine because that’s the aesthetic Ramon finds attractive.I respect the fact that there are many, many Ramon fans out there (I used to be one).
But someone answer me this: if Ramon is proposing some kind of imitation-of-the-Christ motif in his work, possibly even a political/social statement by using female models, why doesn’t he try for more realism in his staging? His models are always very attractive, which is fine, but they also seldom look like they’re suffering much, they usually wear loincloths (not very realistic from what we know of the Romans), and they are always “lit-up” to the max. I don’t think those executed by this method had the time or the materials to look like they’re about to go out on the town.
Simply put, the lack of realism is jarring and contradictory to what most of us are here for: to feed a fetish that wants to see someone die on a cross à la (or at least approximating) the Roman Empire’s methodology.
I'd assumed that to be because few of his models were prepared to pose nude on a cross given that he's told them that they are imitating Christ's crucifixion?they usually wear loincloths
Interesting! Creates a kind of Christian irony, no?I'd assumed that to be because few of his models were prepared to pose nude on a cross given that he's told them that they are imitating Christ's crucifixion?
