#5 is a model of the "Whitehead flyer". Gustave Whitehead (born in the Kingdom of Bavaria as Gustav Weisskopf) claims to have made motorised flights in the US in 1901-1902, hence, before the Wright Brothers in 1903. The claims, accounts and witnesses about these flights are stil controversial today.

I find this to be suspicious.
The classic VW engine was a four cylinder boxer, meaning the pistons were arranged horizontally.

The only way the piston could be thrown at an upward angle would be if someone installed a V type engine.
Or, it could just be a gag photo.

It's a faked photo, no doubt.
