The common view in the Roman Republic: few slaves crucified together because the crime or theft was commited but the real criminal ran away or stayed indistinguishable, hidden between the innocent, in the hope that they will be spared by their master (if the master would had been killed, everyone would have been obligatory crucified, so the murderer would have no hope to avoid the punishment).

These are next-level, Andyman.
 
The mix of sketches of few condemned women, being granted with a long nail driven through the ankles of both legs from one side and hammered to the front of a pole on the other side. An asymmetrical position, probably significantly accelerating the exhausting and death, but at the same time even more painful and IMO extremely humiliating and obscene, because the crotch is more exposed and nothing at all, even squeezing legs and withdrawing hips to the rear, does not help to hide the nudity - the less the genitals and anus are visible from the front, the better you can see them from the back.

Of course, you can simply nail the victims in the forced position with their knees spread wide open, but as for me it is not as cruel as the previous method, when you seemingly let the condemned hide partially her nakedness but force her to twist her hips and knees to do so, with the great effort, but in fact you only increase her torment and (as I wrote before) create the impression that she herself presents her charms shamelessly to the spectators, while in fact she is unable to hide anything despite of all the pain and exertions.

Uh huh … can’t argue with that. Great series of images! Very inventive.
 
Nailing the condemned in the most stretched position you greatly speed up her death - unless you place an additional nail just under her pubic symphysis. It mustn't be seen at all, even if it's relatively short she wouldn't be able to slip down from it's head.

mmm, I also call my test renders sketches FWIW.
