I am still impressed with the vivid contrast between the young, strong and healthy female body of a victim at the beginning of the Process of Crucifixion and the weak, fainting body of the same woman after a day or two: dying, trembling, rotting alive and twisted with horrible pain. In this case she lost especially much blood due to the nailing through the crotch and breasts, hanging on six nails in total.
I had an idea that her husband and son could be crucified slightly earlier nearby with their genitals removed (as the Romans sometimes did it) and our lady could be crucified having her husband's cock pushed into her anus and her son's penis inserted into the vagina before being pierced with the nail through the crotch. I found the idea not to be impossible if the role of the crucifier was played by some Gaul (during the Boudicca's uprising the Celts invented many similar "pleasures" for their Roman victims after the siege of Londinum).

I have always liked that moment when the crucified is given a drink. Relief, desperation, kindness (or perhaps just cruelty in prolonging suffering?). It is tremendously powerful, a genuinely intimate moment when the condemned and helpless victim must rely wholly on another for something as essential as a drink, when she can do nothing but open her mouth and rely on a stranger, gulping greedily, water running uncontrolled down her naked body. Look at this one, she hangs agonised from the nails in her wrist, her woman's parts pierced, her body wracked with pain, she tilts her head back and accepts the gift that is no real kindness. Her body betrays her, she must have that water, life clings to life!

A detail I notice you've included - the use of a large nail as a sedile,
you've shown just how far up into a girl's vulva it would force its way,
she's no choice but to 'rest' on it, but it's hideously uncomfortable,
I can feel how she must be tortured by it.
