The Agony Component.

Hi,
I've rescanned the file and it is fine. Some antivirus progs go barmy if they see a file with .exe on the end and issue dire warnings. I've uploaded the file again to http://ge.tt/5MjcmFM/v/0?c. This time I've not zipped it. I've downloaded it to the hard drive then transferred it to a flash drive. If you have any concerns try downloading the file to your hard drive then copy it to a flash drive. You can then run it from the flash drive. I've tried it on three computers and it works fine. When you've made a successful download we'll start Photoshop lessons on a different thread.
I don't think GIMP has a lassoo tool which is essential. Let me know how you get on.
also a agony component?

Still no luck I'm afraid. It downloads now as a file, not a program. Nothing on my computer is able to open the file, not even Adobe. Perhaps there is somewhere else on the net where photoshop can be downloaded (hopefully for free) as a program so that it opens as a program after download?

that was just what I had expected most providers blocked a exe program. I'll look for a better solution be a few days patient. I'm not able to do that now owing to family circumstances

I don't like to give up on a problem. I've just copied our free version to GE.TT The link is http://ge.tt/5E95EIM/v/0?c I've removed all the foreign language file and left only US English. When you have unzipped it click on the red A Auto run icon. We are using Windows XP, what are you using? Has anyone else managed a successful download?
I'll clear up these posts later.
The key (If you get that far) is
1057-4309-0418-5651-8078-3021

We got a version of Photoshop free in a computer magazine. You can download a nice version from here http://ge.tt/83IiLDM/v/0?c
It's a zipped file so just right click then "Extract all" when downloaded. No key required and it's only about 90MB. I've just tested it and it works. if anyone wants to learn simple Photoshop then I'll use the same prog on a different thread.
There sure are people interested around here.
Photoshop and Paintshop seem to be the programs of choice.
I still use Corel PhotoPiant, what's a bit outdated.
Are you intending to do some sort of how-to in said thread?

We are certainly intending to do easy tutorials on a different thread. I'm very pleased to see that it does download OK. I can't imagine what is going wrong with lornaz and his download. I've just downloaded the free version of Serif Photoplus....it looks very powerful but I do prefer Photoshop because it is so simple to use.

I was not aware that there is a free version of photoshop, so far I knew only the expensive full version.

Hi,
The product I just referred to is Serif Photoplus not Photoshop. A few years ago there was a free release of Adobe Photoshop Elements via a computer magazine. I find the higher versions very technical and more for the professional who has the time.

That was basically my take as well, and my reason for leaning towards Paintshop if I would buy something new.
